Rick, Sorry to hear of your plight - I put this on the list ONLY such that if someone happens to search Google etc the serial # will pop up. I hope you are able to replace your motor to your satisfaction. I HATE theives - very strong words but I .... Fortunately for me I have an another motor in a 4hp Evinrude Yachtwin. Not a 4 stroke but I use my engines as a last resort so the oil issue does not keep me awake at night. (I am the type that may stay up at night worrying) People were asking about alternative high thrust or displacement type props for the Hondas, I know of none for those but OMC or Bombardier have one for the small Evin/Johnsons, I can look up the part number or ask your Evin/Johnson dealer. Hope you get a replacement you like as well or better and your wallet is not damaged in the process! Steve, I respectfully disagree with your attempts to moderate this discussion, unless you are a moderator of this list and in that case I think the appropriate approach is for the moderator to deal with these guys off-list. That being said, I think a good fight is always worth the attention of the list. I don't hear anyone complain when boat buyers give Bob Eeg praise. Over the years I have heard of a number of complaints about Bob that for one reason or another people have withheld from the list. I think if it's out in the open we all have a better chance of knowing the truth as compared to the spin sided, candy coated, happy customer BS that we usually hear on this list. So I'm in favor of having disagreements on this list and if anyone every needs assistance in that area feel free to call on me. New Cushion (Redux)

Ok Bob, I'll simmer down and be patient. Once I have those cushions, I will mentally move on and just go sail. It's been a long time coming. I do have to say many compliment the looks of the boat all the time which is very positive. "One Whiny little girl" To all M-List readers: Posts like these and others (the good, bad, and sometimes ugly) all merit some air time. Life is beautiful, but it may not appear perfect. We all do the best we can- Bob, myself, and others. The beauty of the M-List and other online forums if contributed in a responsible manner, inquiring minds can better gain an understanding of the full picture- hopefully with a balanced point of view. Bob, This is no "prompt": If you are unable to pay your supplier for a simple set of cushions, how can you say you are actively in business? In the grand scheme, the cushions are a petty issue. But they are an indication of how you negligently operate on a grander scale. Keep spinning. It won't be me or Jerry putting you out of business- look in the mirror. Update on this Passagemaker Montgomery 17... This project is being built for a Pacific crossing. The owner plans on heading south down thru Mexico then jumping off to the South Seas. Eventually, ending up in South Africa. As mentioned before, no engine. Just oars on custom oarlocks mounted on a genny track. The oars are 8 feet long. We are installing a modified Norvane Windvane. The Vane is at the shop and will be mounted before decking the boat. http://www.selfsteering.com/Introduction.asp The vane weights less than an outboard/motor mount..! The main hatch is a custom Aluminum watertight, buikhead door like you would find on a large ship. Hinged on the left and two handles on the right side. The sliding hatch is now just a permanent fiberglass roof that is part of the deck structure; the forward hatch has a Lewmar Ocean series aluminum hatch in place of the standard hatch. The rudder is a stock mahogany that has been glassed over and gelcoated white. The bottom of the Passagemaker M_17 has 5 coats of epoxy and will have a couple of coats of fresh bottom paint just prior to launch. She has two stainless opening ports (from Lewmar) and we are installing stainless hand rails as well. Cooking is a Seaswing Stove; several other mods inside as we continue getting her complete. This has been a fun project; I will try and get some photos of the windvane installation and the overall boat in a couple of days. (Bill..?) Lake of the Woods Renndezvous!!!! Let's Go!!!

Hey Doug, I just bought a red, white and blue pendant and a Rainbow pendant in Provincetown. I'm a bit reluctant to use the rainbow one (but I do like it) so I was thinking of offering it to Gandhi to use on "Finally". Anyway that does seem like an interesting cruise, but a real haul for us guys on the right bank. I'm getting to really like that fresh water sailing and like Tod said, "A body could really get lost up there". I'd favor an Ontario launch. Frank and I and perhaps others have been kicking around a trip on the Ottawa River along with a return to the North Channel. Maybe we could continue west to the Lake of the Woods. Come on Frank, we'll call it the "Lost Summer Cruise". BTW, I heard citizens of the Empire will need passports to get in and out of Canada next year. Hello Sean And Listers, I will need to investigate a marina/launch area for Lake of the Woods. There are large power boats on the lake and I know there are marinas in Minnesota and in Ontario. The Lowisa launches out of Kenora, on the far north side. Staying in Minnesota will save a lot of driving time. Of course, launching and retrieving an M15 or M17 is rather simple compared to an M23. I know in the San Juans, a travel lift is employed. However, at my marina, My M23 gets pulled by the harbormaster using my trailer (on a rather steep ramp) and his tractor. I launch each spring on my own by simply floating the boat off the trailer. So, the question here is, given a steep launch ramp, is a travel lift needed? I think not. Albeit, 4 wheel drive from a tow vehicle will be required. We can also think about Vermillion, or Leech Lake. I do know of marinas on those lakes which slips sailboats. If there is interest in a Monty regatta, I can certainly begin investigating possible launch areas and looking over charts. Hate to horn in on Larry Yake's, Todd's or Doug's "Admiral" positions! Arnold, Sails that are designed or modified to work on a furler have a foam or rope luff "filler" of sorts that takes the fullness out of the sail as it is furled so they can maintain a decent sail shape. My 150 is pretty good down to about a 90. It seems to vary a little depending on how the sail is made, but that's seems to be about the maximum range you can expect. I'm in eastern Washington, north of Spokane. I mostly sail in north Idaho, but I trailer all over. Sailed in your area a few years ago, from Portland down to St. Helens and back.
