How about for criteria for the design something that could become a smaller size that could be embroideried on ball caps, jackets, shirts (that could then have the individual boat names placed under it) etc. that is also universally associated with the Montgomery sailboat. What ever it is, however, my order for 3 xls is good. No, make that 4. Skip "Go" M17 and "Gone" M dink.

I am not trying to steal anyone's beer money here, but I am aware of a web based merchandise service that imprints apparel, license plate frames, frisbees, mugs, steins and more. I learned of this site when they were the merchandise vendor for a past SAAB Owners Convention. No minimum order or inventory considerations. Just upload a logo and select which merchandise you want to sell. The cost of the merchandise is listed. The owner of a store sets the selling price. An additional commission is paid for sales of over $250 a month. I suggest the earnings go to supporting the MSOG web site. However, to do this we need, as someone pointed out, the permission of Jerry and Bob and maybe the estate of Lyle Hess. We may also need to form a non-profit organization to channel the funds to MSOG and avoid tax liabilities from sales. Is there an attorney in the house? What do you all think? steve Steve R. Once a design is settled on, get a firm, inclusive price for shirts. 3. Take orders over a set period of time. I assume the order would be exact, with no additional shirts made as a leftover inventory. Otherwise, someone has to carry the costs of the addition shirts, be it supplier, organization, or volunteering individual. 4. Have the shirts made, and mail them out all at once. This will cut down the hassle factor, which should make the shirts cheaper, the service more reliable. 5. Monty sailors all over the country rejoice in their new tee-shirts! I told my wife Kathleen about the idea and asked what the pricing would be like. Basically, she can place the orders as a retailer to her connection, which is a wholesaler. The wholesaler would produce the tee-shirts in batches, as is done for local sports events like running races, bike rides, etc. We think we could provide the T's for $15 apeice, shipping and handling included, with a little money left over for beer! Mainly it would be cool to help and to participate in an historic effort. I think it's important to contact Bob Eeg and Jerry Montgomery as a matter of proprioty, at the least. If any of the artwork used is copyrighted, then of course it becomes a legal obligation to get permission. It's also possible that Bob will want compensation for the shirts, and may want control over the design. I think a member of your group would be the most appropriate to contact him, since I am Montyless :( K's biggest concern was about revisions to the design. You can spend gobs of time coming up with something in an effort to make the powers that be happy. The lines drawings and logos sound like great places to start. If we stay focused on keeping it fun and productive, I believe everyone will win-and win/win is the only way to do anything, in my book. sliding hatch

Because I did not like the way the sliding top hatch was gel coat sliding on gel coat I put Teflon tape on the upper edge so now it slides smoothly but not loosely and not scratchy. The tape is half inch wide and 15 inches long on each side .
