Web browsing issue

OK, I'm having an issue with users being able to browse the web. After the users dial in, connect, authenicate, they try to go to, for example: www.google.com. Sometimes google comes up quickly, other times it takes several minutes, other times google doesn't come up at all. Now, these sites that users as well as myself can not get to, we ping and traceroute to these sites just fine. No problems, no lags, ect. Some users connect to the USR Total Control chassis at 26000, 28000, 33600, 44000, 50000, 52000. Now we can get sites that are local to our domain to come up within our web browsers just fine, everytime with little to no speed issue at all. Does anybody have any suggestions? Here is some info on my USR Total Control Chassis: using 24port Hiper DSP's - 8mb dram, 2mb flash, software ver 3.5.12 Hiper Arc Router - 131mb dram, 16mb flash, software ver 5.3.3 Hiper NMC - 131mb dram, 62mb flash, software ver 8.7.3 Please note: I've not made any recent changes nor software nor hardware upgrades when this problem reared its ugly head. Any of you guys know if there is an Ascend list similar to this Total Control list? May be getting in the Ascend Max 6000 business and I don't know much about them. netserver16 radius problem

Hello, we use Netserver 16 with 4.2 software image. Today we have discovered that session-time for one ppp user was 1145035323 seconds!!!. fitrs we thought that it was problem with radius or billing software but then we have found the same value in netserver's syslog file. it seems there is something wrong with netserver itself. Maybe someone here has some experience with USR Netserver 8/16 and it would be good to hear his/her opinion about this problem. thanks Shahrooz

Older USR TC router question...

This question is about 50% can I, and 50% how do I. First a little background, we're a smaller ISP with an older USR Total Control Chassis (one PRI coming in, quad modem cards, Netserver PRI, NMC). Our internet connectivity is coming in to the office via T1 through an external router (and we have 3 IP blocks coming in through that router, servicing the servers on the LAN, as well as the dialup users connecting to the TC). The Total Control is plugged into the LAN through the LAN port and that's path that dialup data follows out to the Internet. Nothing connected to the 2 WAN ports on the TC at this time. The T1 was in long before the Total Control and so there was never any need seen to change that configuration. For various reasons I'm thinking that now might be the time to retire the external router and rather than go out and pick up a new one, it might be best to just use the Total Control to perform that function... if it'll work. So that's the "can I" part of the question... will the routing capabilities within in the TC work to serve both the servers on the LAN, and the dialup users connecting to the chassis? The second part of the question, "how do I". From the sparse documentation we have around I can see the "set wan0 address" and "set wan0 netmask" to set the upstream IP for the router. I've got "set net0 address" and "set net0 netmask" to change the LAN IP of the TC to match that formerly used by the external router (saves reconfiguring the gateway on all the servers). Now... the ones I'm not sure about... "set net0 routing" "set wan0 routing" "add wan0 <dlci #>" ...what are going to be the proper settings for these in this configuration. The only other info about the configuration of the existing router that I can think might have some bearing is that it is connected to the CSU/DSU via a V.35 cable, and the protocol on the WAN port is specified as PPP, speed of 1544000. And finally routing... we have 3 address blocks... lets say 1.2.3.x, 4.5.6.x and 7.8.9.x The existing router currently responds as IP's 1.2.3.1, 4.5.6.1, and 7.8.9.1 The 1.2.3.x and 7.8.9.x blocks are just routed out to the lan port and service various servers and workstation, whereas the 4.5.6.x block is routed to 1.2.3.5 (which is the LAN ip of the TC) and is used as the address pool for the dialup clients. Now assuming that I change the LAN IP of the TC to 1.2.3.1 (or do I need to leave it at .5 ??), how do I go about setting up the routing to act the same as my existing setup, how do I configure the TC to respond to the other two .1 addresses, and are there any other configuration changes that I'll need to make.
