NMC: Save chassis to nvram

How many cards can NMC (nmc_clk, 16mb dram, 8 mb nvram, soft v7.1.8, 486 proc.) manage (save configuration/traps etc.)? What can be reason for NMC not to respond to Save Chassis to NVRAM?

This is far from the "expert" answer - just some observations/suggestions: When you say that you can't get there either - is then only when you dial up or even when you are plugged in directly via ethernet cable? My first thought would be a problem with your connection upstream from your rack. If you can get to sites on your local network but not on the internet, sounds like problem starts at the gateway to the internet. You can prove this or rule it out by plugging into your network directly and see if the problem is still there or only affecting the dialup. Second - if it's only dialup, reboot the ARC. if the problem goes away, there's the problem - upgrade the firmware on the ARC. Third - again, if it's only the dialup, upgrade firmware on the DSP's - I've said it before: 3.5.12 is the work of the devil (yes, the devil works for 3Com :-) Fourth - make sure your Radius server isn't sending a setting for MTU (Framed-MTU, I think) with the access-accept. If it is, either get rid of it, or make sure it's set to 1500. 3 Com Security and accounting server

I need to migrate our dial-up users from the 3 Com security and accounting server to Cisco ACS. Ideally I'd export the users from the 3 Com product (access 97) and import in ACS but the password field is encrypted, anyone know how to decrypt this field? I'm not an access person - I've been searching the web and it looks like I need the "encrypt function (Formula) that encrypted your data" Any ideas? I've contacted 3Com via the company that provide my maintenance contract and they (3 Com) are unwilling to help. Thanks Steve

SS7 reconnects busy/fast busy

I'm facing this problem of the subscribers getting busy and fast busy tones when they're dialing in to TC, I have 2 ARCS and 6 DSP's.Calls are handled fine by ARC1 which is designated for DSP on slot 6but when it fills up, ARC2 ( which handles DSP's on 1-5) fails to take the calls, this happens in somewhat fixed interval of time( 6 hours) I have been reseting the ARC2 to SS7 gateway connection for quick fix.Any suggestions in this matter would be helpful. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? gotcha. If you want to prevent users from making PPP negotiations without authentication then you need the following (from knowledgebase): Set modems to connection type to normal. Use one of the following commands. hiper>>set modem_group all connection_type normal hiper>>set switched interface<slot:/mod:y>connection_type normal I still dont think however that their is a way to reverse the way the protocol works. I think that the only thing that may help you is "perhaps" the "set modem_group all connection_type ppp_only". I have not used this parameter so I can not confirm whether this will work or not.
