how can you route a call to a particular modem or modem bank using DNIS? The problem: I have two applications that i want to use my tc1000 for: 1. Dialin modem bank 2. Fax Server inbound/outbound I have 11 telephone numbers on a T1-PRI. 555-1000 dialin modem bank number 555-1111 thru 555-1120 fax numbers I have 24 modems on 6 quad modem cards that I would like to split into 2 banks of 12 modems each. If a user dials into 555-1000 i would like for the call to be routed to the first bank of modems. from there they would be authenticated as a dialin user. If a user dials into 555-1111 thru 1120, I would like to the call to be routed to the second bank of modems. these would be connected via reverse-telnet to fax server software. and using dnis the fax software would send the fax to a users email address. my question is: how can you route a call to a particular modem or bank using DNIS? my equipement: TC1000 1 dual pri 6 quad modem 1 hiper arc 1 network mgt card

I;ve had this happen a few times. Just reboot the NMC card by sliding it out if the chassis or via the console interface and it will be well again (until next time). E-1 Daughter boards for Hiper DSP cards?

Does anyone have or know where to get (if there is such a thing) the E-1 daughter boards for Hiper DSP T-1's that will make them the E-1 version? If there is such a thing, does anyone happen to know of a part # for this little item? Final solution found - For those of you who may have been following this and wondered "what the....", here it is. The exceptions on the ARC causing it to reboot, AND all the B-channels going out of service, appear to have been caused entirely by a bad DSP in one of the slots. We swapped the ARC and the NMC with different ones, slightly different code on the ARC even, and kept getting the same problem. Pulled all the DSP's except the first two, and the thing ran like a champ. With utilization near 100% on those first two DSP's, we started plugging in the other DSP's. The second we plugged in the DSP in slot 8, all the users dropped off those first two cards and the B-channels went out of service. Permanently removed that DSP from slot 8 and replaced it with a spare, and the whole chassis has been running fine now for several days without a problem. Radius / Auth Problem

Got two units, set up almost identical, one with authenticate, the other won't. Here's the setup on the ARC: eth:1, 12.x.x.x internet connection, specified gateway 12.x.x.1 eth:2, 10.10.1.29 local network connection Radius server IP: 10.10.1.22 When I do a "mon rad" on this ARC, the source-Ip is always the 12.x.x.x address, instead of 10.10.1.29. On a different chassis, the radius packets originate from 10.10.1.29 and works fine. Suggestions? Did I miss something in the config? shouldn't it always originate from the eth:2 when the requested address is on the same subnet as the eth:2 connection? - Joel

HiperARC issues

Hi, This is my 2nd HiperARC card in the past few months coming up "bad" - running 5.3.3 on several ARCs no problem for long periods of time. Problem #1: - reboots every 1-7 days (at worst possible time usually of course) - upon reboot that first time, takes no calls, although as best I can see no reason it wouldn't (probably ignorance on my part) - reboot again, all is well until next time I seem to recall something about chassis awareness an issue? Restrict interface for a perticular user

Hi , Can i restrict a specific interface (example slot:10/mod:1) to authenticate only for a perticular user and reject access for other users. or is it possible for any user on the authenticate on that perticular interface get a static ip reserved for that perticular interface.. i tried with the commands "set switched interface Slot:x/mod:y user_name" and "set switched interface slot:x/mod:y password" but this allows even other radius users to authenticate to that interface can anyone help me on this Regards Anil
