I just displayed the TCM Version. It is 8.2.6 If you can connect it, why can not I? Thinking that my TCM installation is bad, I reinstalled TCM on the Win NT 4.? Server. No luck. Same error. I have also tried installing the software on a Win XP PRO PC. Same Error. Is it possible that I need to have a stand alone PC? Can I run TCM software on a stand alone PC with Win XP Home or it has to be Win 98? Any suggestion is highly appreciated. I am getting frustrated. This is my first encounter with 3ComTC. I think I already know the answer to this question, but it never hurts to ask. Is it possible to fix an NMC card if the software download died after erasing the flash memory but before the new image was uploaded? I thought I remembered that you could do it with pcsdl and some dip switch settings, but I haven't been able to find anything in the manuals.

Hello List: My question will prove that I am below being NOVICE regarding 3Com TC. I have read about 10-12 different documents. I can connect and configure various cards on the 3Com TC box using a serial connection to a Win NT PC. My problem is that I have not been able to figure out how to start the "Total Control Manager for Windows" application? Can somebody direct me to a document or explain how I can launch TCM? Thanks. netserver problem with radius

Hi all, I have a problem with on interaction of TC (with a netserver card) and radius server and that is: when user credit is finished, TC does not disconnect him on that session (Of course user will not be authenticated next time he dials in). Could anybody advise what is the solution? Is it related to SNMP and any special setting?(or MIBs); does it need a Kill Script on radius server? Hi: This is really great help. You see I have two boxes; one with all HiPer cards and the other with all HiPer except NMC. So I will get to practice both. Before I start, like to Flash the cards with the latest software under TC 4.5. I have seen some posting, where some of the technicians have experienced problem with the latest versions of software for HiPer NMC, HiPer ARC & HiPer DSP. I will appreciate if I get suggestions as to which are the latest stable software versions? I have also seen some posting where it was suggested to apply some patches? Thank you. First you need to configure the NMC to give it an IP address, which you do through the console connection on the back. Once you've done that, you can use the TCM software (Total Control Manager) to configure the rest of the chassis from a Windows box. As long as your whole chassis is HiPer (including the NMC) you should be fine. If you, like me, are in the unfortunate situation of having Hiper DSP and ARC cards, but a regular NMC, you're in for a bit of a rough ride, as in that case you do seem to have to use the console interface of the HiperArc to configure the DSP mappings.
