Zamp makes a 40 watt portable self contained solar panel. I have their 200 watt model that I use with my RV. Hello Listers, For my charging needs, I have a attache style fold open solar panel, 30 watts, with built in regulator that I purchased from Goal Zero. When at anchor or in a slip, I simply open it directing it toward best sunlight, and plug it into my DC jack in the cockpit. I'm using a 33ah AGM battery. I've been following the galley thread as well. I have the stock galley sink and small counter surface to the right of it. (boat is a 1976) I still have the stock water tank and whale faucet. When I got my M17, I played around with the system, flushed the water tank, and operated the little hand pump. It all worked as it should. I drained the water tank, added a bit of bleach, and have never used it again. I pour water out of gallon jugs most of the time, and will use lake water in the cockpit for washing and dishes. The sink makes a nice holder for small items, coffee cup, and a beer mug. For cooking I use the Jet Boil gear either in the small galley or in the cockpit. Works for me. Volt/Ammeter connections...

Hi all, A cheapie little Volt/Ammeter just showed up in the mail. Im looking at it and not quite getting how it gets hooked up. It has 4 wires and a horrible little diagram that looks something like this: - ---------------------------- + ---------------------------- - Load --------------------- +Load --------------------- My setup is probably much like everyone elses, I have the 8 switch panel fed from the positive of the battery, and also a little negative bus bar for all the negative wires connected to the negative of the battery Im thinking the simple + and - wires just go to the battery to power the unit. The other two wires that go to the "Load" is where Im losing it... Do I put the +Load on the last position of the switch panel and the - Load wire on the bus? I dunno...Not sure where it would pick up the "load". Hellllp! Thank you all in advance, Im sure I'll have an answer shortly from one of you super geniuses! Epoxied the sprung seam Sunday and yesterday the centerboard was back in. There is still a lot undone, but in theory at least, we’re close to being able to put the boat in water and see if it floats! Today I’ll try to get the outboard to run.

If you have a boat with the molded in aluminum tubing drain - many would recommend replacement of the tube prior to installing the valve - sea cock - for safe install. These boats were not meant to sail the 'Seven' as delivered - but with modifications much is possible. {:>) Don't forget your emergency plugs/bungs - (I like a couple corks of suitable size too). Larry, Not a 'change of sail or sailmaker' - but smaller headsail or reef mainsail - aka - 'sail change' - your sail is fine ! Sorry that was 'confusing' - shoot, I use a POS mainsail for cruising around - not knocking anyone's sails or work. I don't care what brand of anything anyone uses/has or .... but I do appreciate good 'reviews' or recommendations! I just got a little curveball as I was cleaning up my mess. I found an old piece of tape that apparently went on a switch panel. One of the squares said Bilge Pump. Bilge pump???!!!! I don't know nothing from no bilge pump! Lol...where? ?? Would it be back there in the transom hatch way thing amabob doohickey? Jazz
