Dear Bob, Thank You Sir, I Do appreciate your quick response. Please excuse my naivete... no, it was not sold as a Jerry Montgomery boat, just as a "Montgomery" boat, model "Panther". So if Jerry Montgomery is the only "Montgomery" boat builder out there then my seller was indeed misinformed. The cash was insignificant so that is not at issue. Fin Keel Montgomery 17 available...

Hello....In the midst of building our other models, we are now constructing a brand new Montgomery 17with the Fin Keel option. No centerboard. This boat will be FAST.Something like this:http://www.msogphotosite.com/motuiti.html Really, it's the same M_17 trailer with a slightly taller bunk...with the extension (which is standard on the Trailer)she will slide in and recover without much problem. I will have Bill post some photos of her. She is FOR SALE....(hint, hint) and is sure to be fantastic looking, weatherly and fast. I may up the ballast a bit....still thinking about that, comments welcome. Email me on the backside or call for details. Also have another M_15 ready. A stock M_15, no waiting. Greetings, Fof those interested in sail covers, I recommend checking out the sail covers, tiller covers etc offered on ebay by the seller "comboat". He is a long time ebay merchant and always seems to have items up for sale. I first bought one of his covers thru an auction and was real pleased with the quality and the price. Later, I needed a new cover in black for an M15 and sent him an email through the ebay Contact the Seller link and asked the seller if he could provide the sailcover in black as opposed to the blue that he was auctioning. He replied that he not only would provide the cover in black as a no cost option at auction end but that he had patterns for many boats. Long story short, I had him make a cover specifically for my black M15. Delivered, the price was less than $100.00 and was I pleased. He put it up on ebay with a buy it now price and it was a done deal. Quick and easy. Dear Tim Diebert, I was a little concerned with your last submission and the big "ass roach" you mentioned on your M17. I have never seen an "ass roach" and am very worried about my M17 being infested with these pest, especially if they are big. Also, I hope by "ass roach", you mean dealing with the stern of the infested vessel as the other possibility is, quite frankly, a frightening proposition. Wooo Hoooo new jib lead project

I can't wait to get started on my next project! I just ordered some new Harken #450 jib lead cars. I'm using them in combination with Harken 40mm Carbo blocks with becket and cams#2646. I'm going to attach two Carbo blocks to the clew of the jib so I can run a continuous two purchase jib sheet. I saw this set up on a local one design racing boat "505 open" a boat of french design now being manufactured here in Southern Cal. This two purchase set up eliminates the need for winches on jibs 140sq ft or smaller. Now all I have to do is order the longer track. But I can still run this set up on my short OEM tracks in the mean time. Man I love sailboat hardware !! :) the rigging possibilities are staggering. Mark E M17 F/D #103 AMY

One week until Montys Apostles cruise

This morning as my wife was getting ready for work she starts to quiz me on Hull Speed.? I said "Yes we were at hull speed quite a bit during the race". last weekend.? She looks at me with a big smile and says "We need a bigger boat."? Do I have a great wife or what.? Of course I had to tell her not yet.?
