Robin, Sounds like you've been busy! Good for you (and your Monty). Glad the stuff I posted was of some help. I'd like to take full credit for knowing how to do all that stuff, but like you, I have been assisted by so many folks on here I can't even begin to count them. I think the best thing we can do is just pass along any hints, tips, whatever just like they were passed on to us. That's what is so really cool about being assosciated with a group like the MSOG. That, and also the fact that you are bound to make some new sailing buds! The Anacapa trip that we made a couple of weeks ago brought 3 Monty owners together that had never met before and probably never would've. when used correctly the internet sure is an awesome thing! If you took any pics of your repair be sure to post them or send them to Bill from the photo site. That way they'll be there to help the next 15 owner that needs to do a similar repair. I don't have the answer for you on your trailer set-up except to say that you want a fair amount of the weight on the keel rollers, I believe it's supposed to be 80% on the keel rollers and 20% on the bunks but I'm not sure. The great thing is it will only be a couple of days before someone who does know will read your post and have the answer. Oh yeah, where are you located?? I hope that if your somewhere in the Southwest (CA, AZ) you'll hook up with us on our next get together. Norms already planning on heading to Catalina! Keep up the good work!! Sean

Which left me with the neked trailer itself. Now I have the boat back on the trailer but with the new hardware so that I kinda lost the settings for the bunks and roller heights. The keel is now on the two forward rollers but the rear roller is not set for any particular height and I do not know how much weight the bunks should be carrying. Could anyone give me some rules of thumb for setting the trailer back up? Some of the bunch of stuff was dropping the board, doing a little filling and epoxy paint repair and replacing the line (pendant?) that pulls it up and down. The advice to pull out the core from a 3/8" line and knot it in the board slot was fabulous! This really works but I would have never figure out that was the way to do it. I also benefited from the step by step of finding the pin, hammering out the pin and getting it all back together. I also filled the keel to center board liner gap. Just after I posted a question about why I had this quarter inch gap where I felt none should be, Sean posted his repair on Dauntless showing the same thing! So cool. Not only did that show me what it was (and gave it a name) he showed step by step how to repair it AND had a seperate posting showing how to work with the epoxy. This made things too easy. Thank you Sean! This was the first I worked on the boat (or really any boat) and I just wanted to thank everyone that has contributed. It was a just a huge help! And yes I will throw some $ at the MSOG site since the epoxy was $70.00, the trailer parts $200.00 and the web sites, priceless. Stainless bolts vs aluminum mast.

Jeff: I'd use loctite, or at the least, a little polyurethane caulk... I had some bolts in my mast back themselves out (I know... I didn't believe it either, but the bolts were GONE) and my mast fell on my MascGregor after I replaced the masthead. A plastic or nylon washer under the head of the bolt isn't a bad idea. The boat was in a little corner of our lake where skiers and jet skis loved to go up and down... and up and down, and up and down. Set up a vicious quick chop that whipped the boat around mercilessly. My Monty lies easy in a slip where no boat wakes can get to it. Added The AZ Boating guide to Photo Site

Added the Arizona Boating guide that John Lubliner sent to me. His instructions are to look at the M15 on the front cover and see if anyone knows who owns her. If we find her, I have the original guide to send to them or I'll give it back to John when we go crabbing in September. I added the cover photo of M15 #112 to the "Single Shot" page to make it easier to see how nice she is. The booklet is from the late 80's and I put the whole thing in a PDF. It's a large PDF, so best not to boather with it unless you have high speed connection. It does have some old timey interesting info... Brief update on Havasumontgomerys

Well, I'm stoked for everyone on the San Juan Cruise. I hope you guys get awesome weather and have a blast. I really though I was gonna be able to get old Dauntless back together in time to make it but reality set in about a month and a half ago. Take lots of pics for us and be safe. Make sure Larry really has LOTS of fun so we can persuede him to put it together again next year! Dauntless' progress continues although at times it seems like a snail's pace. I put a brief update on the page showing the current state of the blister job. It's actually just about complete.
