Jerry, Thanks. I did find the Thetford 135 porta potty is being made today. I is about $70.00 and shipping. I sure hope I can use the plywood and cushion over the porta potty. Still happy I found one of your sailboats. RE Mast Ties: I leave the shrouds connected and use "bungie balls". They come from Walmart in a package with 6 or 8 for a few bucks. A doubled bungie makes a loop with a plastic ball on one end. Great for locking the forestay, halyards, etc to the mast, I put one around the mast every few feet. quick to get off. Ruffus had used them when he delivered the boat last year and recommended them. I also use the bungie balls to restrain the jib when its down and to hold the furled main to the boom. I did find some short (10"??) velcro straps at Lowes that have a slit in one end. Wrap the velcro strap around the mast then slip the end through the slit and press it down til it sticks. I also use the plastic wire (cable) ties to lock down the fast-pins on the forestay and rudder. They have to be cut off at the end of each trip but I've got a lot of them. If I was trailering a long way, I'd use them to hold the stays to the mast. Don

How does one inspect and change the painter on the M15's centerboard? Can this be done on the trailer, or does it require use of a travel lift. Jerry, as you know by now I am the new owner of hull#189 M-15. Can you tell me which portapotty fits in that space? One for the record books

This happened a few years ago. First day of a two week vacation, I drove only 3 1/2 hours away from home and pulled into a remote and undeveloped camping area that I had been to many times for fly fishing. It was to late to launch my new Valco pram with new Merc 15hp, so I decided to do a little evening wading in the river to see if I could catch a few trout. Got back to the van & boat as it was getting dark and looked forward to the next AM when I would do a little power boating on the river. Next morning I got up, got all ready to leave and did my customary walk around to make sure trailer & van were ready. That's when I found the motor gone. I did all ot the right things: Thru bolted the motor to the transom and added a channel type motor lock. The theif used what may have been a hatchet and a skill saw or sawsall to remove a portion of the transom and the new motor. The boat and motor were less than a month old. The insurance came through in a couple of months. I lost my vacation plans, but not my money. Top that one! I believe, if someone wants what you got... you better watch out or it will be theirs. Roy, I made folding doors out of plywood. I cut one big piece to slide in where the hatch boards normally go. Then cut out two doors from the top, leaving a u-shape piece of ply as the main frame. The doors were attached with piano hinge and had screens with removable covers installed from the inside. The covers were held in place by wood cleats. I beveled the cuts so water would drain away. The whole piece slides out when you want to keep it more secure with hatch boards. Bill
