Thanks for the data on the Honda 2hp. Do think LockTite (medium) could be used for securing those kind of bolts in those critical applications? Larry, Got mine in Alameda. This was about a year and a half ago and paid I believe about 750.00 (+ Tax) new. I did however also get the first check-up for free (75.00 value?). Summer time in Dixie. Late July and August are rough. I showed up at the Yacht Club a little before noon and did some clean-up chores on Sweet Dream. Drove around the corner and dropped her in. Motored out the river into the bay. The heat was oppresive, but Sweet Dream has a factory Bimini top. I don't use it much but went ahead and raised it. AH Shade! with a 10 knot wind blowing up the bay it was bearable. I shut down the trusty 2 HP Honda and tilted it into the CORRECT position, raised sail and took off. The wind was beginning to freshen. I trimmed the sails to keep the weather helm down and thought about a reef. Sweet Dream was running near hull speed on a close reach. It just doesn't get any better than this. I needed another 110 lbs of blond to balance the boat but sweety can't take the heat. Then thunder, Sweety called on the cell phone and said there were bad thunderstorms in the area. I couldn't see them in the haze but decided to turn back anyway. The run back was great. The new downhaul came in handy dropping the jib and the main came down easy. I motored back and put her back on the trailer. A quick run back the the club and a washdown and I stowed her away. I laid the trusty 2 HP on the bed of my truck (the Correct Way) and unhitched the trailer. The rain fell in buckets as I drove away. The heat was gone. Talk about good timing. Sailing on the Bay (San Francisco)

Just a quick tip for those wishing some sail time on the Bay. Go to www.yahoo.com then to yahoo groups and search for sanfranciscosailing as one of the Yahoo groups. After you find the link to groups just punch in the above and the search will find that group. Simple to become a member. I just got off the group and there have been several in the past couple of weeks who are asking for able crew to assist them with their boats to go sailing. Would be a great way to learn the bay without having the concerns of not knowing the area. There was one person looking for crew to assist in taking a sailboat from SF to Santa Cruz. That was to be for today... Check it out, may be helpful, Bill (SF)

Except for the $200 an hour. I don't know about CA, but here in Michigan, the prices come down when they like you :-) I've already got the beard! I was in contact with the folks at the M boatyard on Friday, they say the last 2004 M15 comes off the line this week, and the 2005's start on Auggy one. I had asked about next spring, and if I could pick her up at the boatyard, so as to save the delivery fee. "Sure come on down". I've never driven to CA, and for 1,200 bucks, I could be convinced. If you've got the time, how could you resist? Anyway, they are starting to use a dealer network as soon as they can establish it (a dealer in Lansing too, GLSC, I think). Of course, the prices will go up, but so will service opportunities. Convincing my wife that buying two boats in one year is another matter; she's only sailed a few time in her years; but maybe.... The paint started going on my wee yawl this week. Paint can hide a multitude of sins, and she's starting to look pretty good (the boat, wife is pretty all the time!). Take care, Dave
