Rather than using a sail stopper (which, as Thomas Howe pointed out) is often keen on jumping overboard, I drilled a hole through the two sides of the groove and put a pin through it. The pin is captive on a short piece of line. MSOG Fund Drive goal has been reached

Well, I do believe we have set a record for the shortest fund drive in history. The goal was reached in two days. Many of you have given more than your share, and for that I thank you very much. Apparently Shirley Temple is ever so popular. In fact, I may rename Vixen to Lollipop, with "may" being the operative word. What I thought I'd do is apply additional funds to buy another 50 megabytes of disk space at a cost of $5 per month, or an additional $60 for the year. We're getting close to our allotment anyway, what with the addition of the MON page scans, and as I understand it, the trailersailor site is no longer hosting photos contributed by users so we may need more space to host photos. I'm going to try to figure out how you can submit your photos to MSOG automatically, as well as add a photo to the Boats for Sail ads. Anything received after that will go towards purchasing those beverages which assist me in writing fund drive spiel. As usual, donor names will be listed on the Donors page of the MSOG site, unless you email me directly not to. Thank you all again and I'm looking forward to another productive year! The piece of hardware which holds the sail in the mast slot is called a Track Stop or Sail Track Stop. They are available from West Marine. See page 904 in the 2003 Master catalog. I'm sure nearly all boat hardware dealers have them, if you have any in your area. Doug, my check will be on its way tomorrow. Sail Expo-Jack London Square

Greetings M-Boaters, Cat and I are planning our first cruise of the year at the Pacific Sail Expo at Jack London Square which runs April 23-27. Several members of the Gold Country Yacht Club, of which we are members, keep their larger boats at Marina Village on Alameda Island, just across the Inner Harbor from the show and we plan to stay a few nights there while visiting the show and sailing out into the Bay. Marina Village is a beautiful spot, with access to S.F. Ferries, Oakland, and all the marine activities on S.F. Bay. Will any of you be attending the show? Bob Eeg, will you have a display there? We would sure like to see that new M-23! If any of you are planning to go to the show it would sure be fun to get together for a sail out into the Bay or to walk thru the show and tease ourselves with "bigboatitis"!
