I wish more artists would shut up about their political views, whether they be from the left or the right. I'm tired of entertainers taking my money, and then instead of entertaining me, lecturing me like a child about the state of the world. The worst part is, most of these self appointed critics don't actually do anything about the issues they care about, such as running for office or lobbying the current elected officials because they've convinced themselves that they are doing something by enlightening the uninformed masses. Having said all of this, I do think that everybody, including artists are entitled to their opinions, but as a consumer of entertainment I just wish they would leave me out of it. I would certainly get fired if I used my job to forward my political beliefs. Dan Hutchins

Sample spotting [OT]

Yesterday there was an LP market in our town, and I just picked up some fine 7"'s (EMF, Sugarcubes) plus a best of CD from Bomb The Bass. My question is this: does anybody knows that the source of a vocal sample on "Beat Dis (12" Version)"? The sample is a girl singing something like "Evereybody in the street...get down to the funky beat". It also has been used for a commercial recently. And there is another sample on "The Air You Breathe" which I couldn't identify: a man saying "Tell me that you never been one of them". I'm just curious, since the Bomb The Bass mini-site doesn't identify these ones. I agree that the "out of time" video was boring as hell, and I would have to say that even though blur without graham isn't as good as blur WITH him, it's still better than solo graham what I don't understand is how damon can be considered an egomaniac for speaking out against a war that the vast majority of the people on the planet didn't want?
