Basically it appears as if the auto setting is seen as the same as the none setting. Does anyone know the numerical value for Auto? What I guess I am sending is "0" which is none. If I Knew the true value I could fix my USR dictionary, which I think came from USR. hmmm. Joel, is the auto setting working for you? Routes propagation issue

Hello. I've been trying to send a 2 hosts subnet over dial-up on a TC Hub. I've Hiper Arc and Hiper DSP. The route is well applied (when I do a list ip routes it appears good). Also all my HiperARCs run on RIP v2 (propagating ppp IP addresses). When I send the little subnet through a dial-up ppp connection (lets say 192.168.0.0/30) if I look in the routing table of the rest of the routers that belong to the rip group, I found 192.168.0/24 pointing to the Hiper ARC that manages the dial-up connection. How do I prevent that summarization?. I only need the rest of the routers to see 192.168.0.0/30. Thanks a lot in advance for the help. Problem with Protocol type?

Hello ... when i do a "list session" I am noticing alot of customers listed as "UNKNOWN" in the protocol type field ... some are showing as PPP but they all should be ... any ideas what is wrong?? hi, i am curious to find out that what usually the list members would recommend for abnormally long connections? i am running a hiper DSP chasis and once in a month or so get a fake long connection to handle. any suggestions how to fix it even from happening? rgds,

OK - your radius info looks right. Do a mon rad and watch an authentication and make sure that the ARC is recognizing the USR-Compression-Algorithm=Auto in the Access-Accept response from the Radius server. I'm no radius expert, but if it's not seeing it, it might be that your dictionary on your radius server has the wrong value or something. I dunno - it's always worked for me, I'd just check to see that it's seeing it. Next, at the Hiper ARC, give it a "set ppp ccp all" followed by a "save all" command. Then, do a test dial up and see that the compression is on. On Windows 2K (and XP?) go to status of the connection, then the details tab, and it should list Compression as "MPPC" if it's working. Not sure if it says the exact same thing on XP, but will be something similar. On Win9x, you open the connection status and it will have a box at the bottom (you might have to click Details button or something to see it) that shows Password Authentication Protocol, TCP/IP, and (if compression is on) Microsoft Compression. [Wording may not be exact, but you get the idea]. Hope that helps. Anyway - that's what I do - and the compression is always there. Find a big pure text file and download it. If your internet pipe is good, you'll should see up to about 1 Mbps throughput.
