Hi All,
Thank you all for the loads of good information I got regarding this
issue. I'm happy to report that I've got one of my recently acquired DSPs
online receiving calls now, the second will be following shortly.
It all boiled down to that after I was restoring to defaults, I wasn't
saving T1/E1 and Modems to NVRAM. In our case, all I had to do was
restore the defaults, save, and reboot the card. The default
configuration was what matched there rest of my DSP cards for the framing,
line code and switch type.
Now with that out the way, I've been asked to locate some pricing for a
software only contract so that we can consider obtaining some v.92 code.
I've been going over the archives here pulling out notes from past v.92
related threads. I have 2 Total Control chassis at my disposal right now,
and I know that the oldest one is out of the question for v.92 without
some upgrades since the HiperArc only has 52488 KB of memory. My newer
chassis though does have a 128 MB HiperArc.
I haven't come across yet anyone posting regarding specific hardware
versions needed in the NMC and DSP area. I have an NMC with hardware
version 2.0 running code 6.2.17 and one with hardware version 6.0 running
code 5.5.5. My DSP cards are either 0.49 or 0.53.
So, based of this, am I correct in saying that if I had v.92 code to
install, my newer chassis could indeed support it? If anyone has some
specific info from a v.92 release regarding the hardware requirements from
3Com I may have missed please let me know. I have limited access to some
3com information, just not all since I'm lacking a contract right now.
And with that out of the way, might anyone be able to point me in a
direction of a Commworks vendor that has reasonably priced contract
options just for software?
Thanks again to you all for the help and feedback. I hope as I linger
around here I might be able to return the kindness one of these days.
Regards,
Lee Terrell
