One trip hazard to signing on -- if you're kind of guessing what you might have used for a Yahoo ID when you signed up -- is the prompt that you get under the blank rectangle for entering your ID, which prompt reads: (e.g. free2rhyme(a)yahoo.com) That suggests that IDs are in that email address format, but I suspect that most of us don't choose our email address as our ID/screen-name. I didn't, but a while back, when I tried to get in, I followed the sample format and couldn't get access. In the internet version of jiggling the spark plug wires, I tried variations of screen names and passwords and finally hit upon it (and there was no "@domainname.com" element). If you have doubts, click on the "Forgot your ID or password?" link and get it sent to you. Sometimes upper and lower case matters, other times a requested name was available only if you acceded to adding a couple of random numerals to it -- all easy to forget. I'm not only on AOL at the moment (which I've grown to dislike very much), but I'm out in the sticks on dial-up, and I was able to sign onto the Monty Yahoo site. (Not liking AOL or dial-up will be moot soon enough, as AOL and everyone else will be pulling the plug on dial-up before long anyway.) ************** Get fantasy football with free live scoring. That's in case I have offended anyone with whatever post I have made - you can drown me there. I am planning on sailing over from Santa Cruz, Friday AM if anyone would like to come along. It's downhill all the way! JoAnneski will meet me there with the trailer - so I'll be sailing bearing buddies on the trip home.... I plan on being very fast on the course and very humble when I am not.....maybe I'll learn something.

Sean and List members, I have experienced similar problems with the Yahoo list. I have registered - retrieved my info - entered it repeatedly and still get an "Unable to sign-in" message. The reason for this is that it eliminates spam from being posted (as much), and I'm sure it also allows yahoo to track folks gaining access to the site for marketing reasons. Neither of which is objectionable to me as they are providing the service to us for free. I hope folks will keep signing up......since I posted the reminder a few hours ago there have been 6 more boats added. I will occasionally post a reminder for folks that don't sign on regularly or who are new to the group. And hey........SMILE!!! Recent posts inquiring about a specific Monty that was seen in this marina or that led me to go tot the online owner's registry to look for that particular boat. You can search for that boat by hull number, location, name, size, etc. I was not able to locate #254, but the search reminded me to post this reminder to you guys...if you haven't listed your boat in the registry I would encourage you to do so. There are about 66 boats listed there so far from across the country and some even out of the country. Obviously, the more boats that are listed the better the registry will serve the group. If you haven't already, think about taking a few minutes and registering. Heck, you might own the boat everyone is looking for! Andrei, The propellor on your motor has a rubber hub inside the shaft attachment area,Ring,Prop clutch Part #310331 and the plastic Clutch Hub - part # 398316 This is to absorb the blow when the motor strikes an 'immovable' object, The hub tears away and the gearcase is saved the brunt of the blow. It is very hard to tell when these go bad and the scenario you describe may be related to this or a bad shear pin. If the hub is bad they are replaceable as a separate part (I have never been able to get one out of the prop itself without destroying the rubber hub) or it may be a good time to replace your prop with the OMC 'high thrust prop - an aluminum flat bladed large blade model - Not sure of its part number -hidden away on the hub inside. Your motor should be submerged to ABOVE the (lowest) 'cavitation' plate and probably somewhere between the two plates but NOT near the exhaust 'muffler' outlet (plastic block attached to the rear of the housing up above both plates-closer to the powerhead itself). The 'hot' coolant water and a small amount of exhaust will exit right above the propellor at the lowest plate, the balance of the exhaust and some coolant water will exit from the black plastic block - if you EVER see just exhaust and NO water coming out the upper plastic block at the lower unit - shut the engine off IMMEDIATELY and let it cool. Plan on checking the water pump for failed impeller and have the water pump serviced before using the engine. (Good outboard mechanics can be expensive - bad mechanics cost even MORE!) Is my outboard in trouble?

Hello all, I have a question on my 4hp Evinrude outboard. Yesterday, in a no-wind situation, the boat (M-17) was barely moving with the power at maximum. Maybe I was getting 2 knots, at best. What did seem strange was that when I moved from one side of the boat to another, the prop seemed to rev up, as if just by shifting the weight and lifting slightly the motor, the prop was about to cavitate. As it is mounted right now, on the original (1982) motor mount, the motor is in the water up to the bottom cavitation plate, just above the water pump intake. Is the problem the motor itself, or the fact that the motor is not deep enough in the water? It seemed to run fine except for the lack of power/speed. It is the original motor that came with the boat, 1981 Yachtwin, the boat is 1982 M-17.
