New M-15 trailer from Pacific

Hey, Norm, about 14 months ago you posted about your new trailer. What do you think of it now? Mine is in pretty bad shape and I was thinking a new one with the tongue extension would really make launching easier. Anyone know where I could get an M15 trailer in the NW? Bobbie

I gave up on the lights and took my nephew sailing anyway. We launched at Maxwelton on Whidbey Island at a not-high-enough tide with great difficulty. I think I need to get a second hitch for my car because the one I got, which is great for trailering, holds the tongue too low for launching (I don't have the tongue extension.) Anyway, we ended up tying the trailer to the hitch by a rope (resting on the tongue wheel) and letting it roll back into the water in order to get the boat off. I parked the car and trailer and we took off. Not much wind for awhile, but it eventually came up. We had intended to sail around for awhile and then retrieve at Maxwelton but I decided I can't get the boat out easily there without something done about the trailer hitch, so sailed over through Useless Bay to Sunlight Beach and anchored. (My cabin is on Sunlight Beach, but on the back side so I can't see the boat from my house.) The boat will be on tide flats at low tide but in a place with soft sand and no rocks, so it should be fine. I'll sail it back after fixing the trailer hitch or else sail it further to a better ramp. We just went out to check to see if it was dragging anchor, but it was just sailing around on the anchor a little. My nephew, who is 13, had previously only sailed a small boat (Sabot and Sunfish) but he single-handed for a few tacks so I could take pictures. So now how do I get my pictures onto the photo site? I put LED trailer lights on the Pacific Trailer. They are sealed for life (10,000 hrs) and can be immersed. same price as the old incandesent bulb type Don M15 #620 Sweet Dream

Hi, I'm selling my 1983 Montgomery 17, Hull #369. Unfortunately, my work schedule just doesn't allow me the time to get away and enjoy her. She's in great condition and ready to sail. I bought her in 2002 from Mike Leonard. He'd done a terrific job of restoring and equipping her. I've upgraded the trailer and some of the electronics. I need to replace the battens in my M17 main. I got the boat from the insurance company for salvage but she is seaworthy now. I cannot find a sample to get three more battens. What size battens do M17's have in general or point me in the right direction to get the right ones? Dale Superior Sal M17

Bobbie, funny you should come with an idea like that. You are two steps ahead of me...I am struggling to figure out my wiring right now. So simple (four wires) yet so far to perfect. Good idea. Bobbie, The whole car body is used as a ground. That way the car manufacturers only have to run one wire - the car body is the return wire. Connie
