Bob I like the telescoping factory ladder that came on Sweet Dream. I'm sure that Bob would sell you one. Its a small ladder and just the right size for mounting the boat when its on the trailer from the ground. I've only used it a few times from the water but it works OK. By the way, I drag a short 3/8" line from the stern cleat in the STBD side with a large loop in the free end. Just the right size to put your foot into and step up, providing a great "first step". Its really there as a safety line to grab to if you fall overboard and provides something to hold onto while you are releasing the folding ladder. One day, swim around the boat and try to find something to hold on to other than the slippery rudder or the OB propeller. Look at some of the photos on the MSOG web site. I've added a packing list for Busca, although it's probably missing something important such as the rudder. (actually did that once years ago with a different boat.....got to the lake only to discover I had left it home!) Rick Langer I don't think this list slows down much; kinda like a Montgomery boat! Actually, the boat I'm working on is sort of the opposite of a Monty. It's a flat bottomed scow 16' X 4', dubbed "Flatbote". I got a writeup in the SCA a few months ago. At the moment I have the sides and all but two bulkheads cut out. It's very simple hard chine construction with lumberyard plywood. The implications of its shape on its sailing characteristics are fascinating me. The sides are dead straight, bow to stern, and she has a huge amount of rocker. Because of this, the center of boyancy moves to leeward when heeled faster than any monohull shape I can think of. Paper calculations indicate that she'll right herself to about 110 degrees-and this is a boat that can float in 6" of water. Her 8" x 2' 6"chine logs have the same curve as the bottom, and with luck will present a hydrodynamic plate that provides lots of lift. Will it work? Damned if I know. Hi Bob, No, the ladder on "Dinky Boat" is not the 4-step Windline. The ladder on Dinky Boat, is as you said, a fixed step ladder that folds up. It is a good ladder and drops down well into the water, but not as convenient as the newer folding step ladders. She has a couple of really good pictures showing the folding ladder. I wonder, will this ladder fit on a M15? I saw the pictures of Randy Graves 'Dinky Boat' and it looked like that ladder was not telescoped and stuck up above the gunnel (images 19, 25). Is that a Windline 4 step? What is a good ladder for a M15? The 'Rude manual suggests squirting Fogging Oil into the intake a few seconds before shutdown, until it quits. Also, spraying it thru the parkplug hole and giving a few pulls was suggested. Here's the answer back from Windline... Yes, we are the manufacturer. You will not be able to find that ladder at a retail outlet though. We make that custom for international. I would contact them directly at 310-674-8021 I believe the ladder that you want is the 4 step transom part# R-1185 double check though. Best Regards, Lynn

Hi Rick, My first thought was: use stainless sheet metal screws, but the plastic you want to screw to may not be thick enough. Second thought: If you use a sheet of plywood for the other side of the box, just lace it in place by drilling small holes at the suitable spots and use some copper / brass / monel safety wire to hold the plywood in place.
