Well, Lajko is part of the Hungarian minority that lives in
Vojvodina,Northern Serbia. I met him once and he is great to chat with. It
is interesting that all he ever does is improvise and that sounds amazing.
His solo stuff is fantastic and it sounds more classical violin rather than
hungarian folk violin. Also worth checking is some projects he did with
Boris Kovac. Another great musician is Ferus Mustafov (Ferus the King) for
whom I know that Dave Douglas loves his work. Has anyone heard of Ferus
Mustafov?
