Hello List:
Since I posted the following message, I am going over all 3COM manuals in
hope of finding an answer & I may have found it. Please respond and confirm
my find.
Normally in TCM, I do the HiPer DSP settings as follows:
(1) Select Span: This the square blocks (you may call them rectangular
blocks) in the upper half of the HiPer DSP Cards. When I configure these
settings, the configure window's heading is "HiPer DSP Modem (T1) Program
Settings". In this section I setup settings to match telco settings.
(2) Select HiPer DSP card: When I select this option, the entire card
changes into blue color. Then I am given and option to "Select Card Level or
Templates" options. I select "Template 1". Then I setup settings for modems.
For example some of these settings are for "V.92 settings". After I do all
the necessary settings, I save the settings to NVRAM.
(3) As I mentioned in my previous posting (see below), the 'Inactivity
Settings' are not working on our 3COM. While researching, I found another
set of settings for HiPer DSP. These settings are for the square blocks ,
which are on the bottom half of the HiPer DSP and are enclosed in a box.
When I select these blocks and try to configure them, they show the same
settings as I mentioned in (2) above except none of the settings are the
same as I set in (2) above.
This explanation seems very complex but if somebody knows what I am talking
about, do I need to setup these settings too??
Thanks.

Hello List:
On out 3COM, I have setup ,Inactivity Time [min][S19]' settings to '12'
minutes (Under TCM > HiPer DSP Cards > Configure > Call Control Options).
However, when I test this feature by dialing-in from my PC into 3COM, the
connection remains open for an extended number of minutes. I do not know
what the maximum time it remains open but as of this post the connection is
up for 40+ minutes with no activity from my PC.
Is ther anything wrong I am doing? How can I setup so the users disconnect
when they reach the 'Inactivity Time"?
