Check your cables. I've never seen a bad cable put trunks in Maintenance mode, but I have seen it cause LOOS and ROOS. I might have even posted a question similar to this a long time back. Basically on some Hiper DSP's I'm getting some ds0's that are NOT in a "inService" state. It varies on which state they'll be in. Some are in maintenance mode, some are local out of service and others are remote out of service. And of course some are working properly and taking calls. If I busy the ds0's out (either soft or hard) and then restore them, they will come back to a normal "inService" state temporarily, and then eventually go back to one of the out of service states. I have more then 1 chassis at this site and it appears (have not thoroughly verified yet) that these issues do not occur on all the chassis. Infact it appears that possibly the only thing in common is that the cards that are experiencing this terminate into the same muxed DS3. The telco has no clue and is looking to me for answers. Anyone have any experience with this type of issue and could possibly offer some suggestions? User not in table!!!

Hello: I am testing a 3COM box and have setup a HiPer DSP. It answers the user dial-in calls. I watch the connections & delete those users who are logged in more than couple of hours. I use the following commands: Hiper>> list connections Hiper>> delete user xxxxx When I try to delete a user 'xxxxx', I get an error message: DELETE USER failed because the item is not in the table (or very similar message) I display the list again and sure enough the user is logged on. I have checked the user name but the error keeps on happening. What causes this error and how to fix it? Thanks in advance. Kirti

TC 1000 Configuration

Hi guys, An international friend of mine is having some issues with a TC 1000 unit...any advice would help. He has Qty 15 Analog/Digital modems, with a Netserver PRI and NMC. Here is what he wrote: "Please advice to how can configure it for dial in connection .. I can configure it for answer modem, modem didnt answer .. and how can I configure it for radiuse server .. you most know I have not E1,T1, any ISDN I just have analog phone line ...I have any user guide and just searching internet .. I built a consol port for it and don't know password of netserver and I hardly reset it ... PLz PLz advise me how to configure it for internet service provider for dial in connection." Are you resetting both sides or just the NAK (front)? Consistent span problems would indicate a problem with the span/Cat5/NIC. Are these PRI, ChT1, or E1/R2? What kind of problems do they have? The version you should run is largely dependent on the memory configuration and generation of each card within the chassis. If HiperARC is 128/16 and chassis is all Hiper, V.92 code can be used. Remember that TCM does not support TCS 4.7, should you choose to upgrade. If any non-Hiper cards in chassis, TCS 4.3 should be used. 3COM settings

Hello: Our 3COM chassis is up and initial tests shows that it is working. Since there are users logged on to the chassis, how should I make changes to the settings? Is it possible to make changes via TCM & no user is disconnected? Kirti

Sometimes this will happen if your DSPs go bad and sometimes it will autodisable certain trunks if the Cat5 or T1 has span problems. Verify through TCM that your channels are not going LOOS (Local Out of Service). If they are going 'Remote out of service' it could be the Cat5 or incorrect switch type. LOOS problems are a little more difficult to counter. Check for errors on the T and verify the Cat5. I have had this problem before and had to reset the T-1 cards to free up the other channels. This just started all of a sudden with no changes on the Chassis, or the configuration of any of the cards.
