I've been using TC1000 for over nine years now at this ISP. I've been
through some problems with Netserver cards and bad code - there was
even a time I was considering going to Portmaster equipment before it
disappeared. But over those years, USRobotics, 3Com and Commworks were
upgrading the code and making the modems work better. Then they
upgraded the hardware to the point where things work pretty smoothly
now.
But what's next? The current owners don't appear to have made any new
code at all. Will there ever be any more improvements? I know I can get
used TC equipment for next to nothing, but is there something better
out there?
If anyone on the list has moved away from the TC1000 to another
solution, I'd like to hear what you are using, why you switched and how
it's working out.
