Last week we had a strange problem, where dialup connections that were
working fine for years on our TC1000 servers suddenly had problems
getting to certain web pages (EBay, banking sites, MSN) and logging on
to the MSN instant messenger network. This only seemed to affect
Windows XP/2000 and OS X users, but the fix I implemented to solve the
problem for those users (force the MTU to 576 in both the RADIUS server
and the terminal servers with SET PPP SYSTEM_MTU 576) is now causing
problems for *some* (not all) Win98, old Mac (OS 8) and Playstation
Online users.
Does anyone know what could have caused this problem to suddenly crop
up, or have suggestions as to a better fix, that won't break dialup for
the rest of my users?
