Hello List: I finally figured out how to configure HiPer ARC using CLI & HARM. However, when I display ARC in TCM, none of the settings are showing! Can someone explain why? Thanks. Multiple Chassis Problem

Starting somewhat randomly across multiple chassis with no software updates or hardware changes in ages we've had DSPs taking modems and the corresponding T1 B channels out of service. This occurs on all DSPs (8) and takes out modems at a rate of roughly 1 per hour. The only cure seems to be resetting the DSP cards. DSP software is 2.1.9. In addition some cards have started causing packet bus failures with the ARC sysloging the interfaces appearing and disappearing. We've checked with our telco and have corrected a translations problem that was preventing service messages from properly removing the channels from service; however our equipment continues to place channels in 'LOCAL OOS' local out of service state. Swapping and replacing cards has generated no change in the condition. In additon we've seen some DSPs generate the following on the console: (Ch.10): 19:29:47:044 DSP Fatal Error: Parm = 94 Does anyone have an ideas as to what could be the root cause of failure? Could the backplane/midplane be failing somehow and causing all of the DSP errors? This system has ran flawlessly for at least 2 years and all of a sudden everything is going to hell. Thanks... ARC as router to NMC

Hello! I have 5.3.3 ver. of firmware installed to Hiper ARC and 6.1.17 ver. installed to NMC (16Mb, 486SX). Can I ping NMC through Hiper ARC? if I can what do I have to configure? At present I cant do it.... But I was able to ping before upgrade firmwares. 10x in advance, Murad

Filter Access On HiperArc

Hallo there, I am currently implementing filter access on HiperARC V5.3.105. The thing is that they get to work for sometime and stop after a while. While configuring HiPer NMC, I came to the setting for "Local Gateway IP Address". Is the "Gateway IP Address" is the IP address of the Router (in our case CISCO 26xx) or is it some other IP address? Kirti

Problem with DSP cards

Any help would be appreciated with this problem. I have a USR TCM box with 5 24 modem dsp cards installed. One started malfunctioning so I purchased a "new" card and put it in. It goes through the boot sequence and I have a green RN/FL and a green CAR light and a red LPBK light. The card shows as being UP and modems are UP but there are only 23 modems listed in a list interfaces results. Also I cannot establish a console connection with the card or any of the other cards for that matter. The "new" malfunctioning card will not accept calls. Thanks, Mike

changing IPs

Greetings, I have a Total Control Chassis with 2DSPs and HiPer Arc and NMC. I've just found out I need to change the IP pool for the dial-in's. After I go to the HARM and change the pool it assigns the correct ip number to the caller but they are not able to access any resources. I know I'm missing something, but I'm not sure what it is. I read on an earlier post about the gateway. Where is that setting located? Is it something that can be accessed by HARM or should I use the TCM? Also, as long as the ARC, NMC and radius server can talk to each other is there any reason to change thier IP's? Thank you very much! Ray
