can't connect to cosole for usr-tc 1000

Hi, I need to setup a usr-tc. Hyperterminal can't connect to usr-tc 1000. I'm using a custom cable RJ45 - DB9 ( i got the pinout from this mailing list). I tried with all bits/second (110 to 115200) and other setting as "8-None-1-Hardware". I can't figure out the problem. Its explained in Hiper ARC's product reference.). Filter file have to be in ascii (text). An example of filter file is this: user.in #filter IP: 001 AND src-addr = 0.0.0.0/0; 002 ACCEPT dst-addr = 10.1.0.0/16; 003 AND src-addr = 0.0.0.0/0; 004 AND dst-addr = 10.2.1.1/32; 005 ACCEPT udp-dst-port = 53; 006 DENY; line 1 and 2 permit user to acces your local network (if local network is 10.1.0.0 255.255.0.0). line 3,4 and 5 permit user to access your dns server (if dns server's ip is 10.2.1.1). line 6 denys anything else. output filter is nearly the same but source addresses are 10.1.0.0/16 and 10.2.1.1. destination - 0.0.0.0/0 After you put filter files on arc you have to verify them by: verify filter user.in verify filter user.out. Question about filters

Hopefully someone can help. I've seen mention of filters on the list a couple times, but never anything I could completely follow. Need to figure out how to create a filter, and I know NOTHING about how to go about doing that. I want to create a filter to allow a particular to user to access only a single, specific IP address. I need to know not only what has to be in the filter, but how to go about putting it on the ARC and enabling it and such. Thanks in advance if you can help. Thanks, Joel

Three PRI Questions

Got a chassis with 10 PRI's into it. Just looking for any opinions or information on the following issues: #1. Telco says the switch is a 5ESS. If we configure the DSP's for 5ESS we intermittently lose the D-channels. Telco says that even though it's a 5ESS switch, the PRI's are configured "standard" or "national" and that we should set the Total Control for NI2. Is this normal/correct? Set it up for NI2 and D-channels appear stable and it answers calls. #2. Telco says that even though each PRI has it's own D-channel, that each PRI is configured as it's own single-PRI NFAS group with Interface ID 0. It seems to answer calls whether I just configure for FAS or if I config for NFAS assigning a different NFAS Group to each DSP. Does this matter at all? Seemed kinda wierd, but I haven't worked with PRI's that much. #3. All 10 PRI's are in a single "hunt group" with 4 different numbers assigned to that group. Regardless of the phone number I call, the call comes into the first DSP. If I busy-out that first DSP, dialing any number results in a busy-signal. In other words, if one DSP is not there, calls don't roll over to the next available PRI. I'm pretty sure this is a telco config issue - but is there something I may be doing wrong? I tried two different things with no luck: 1. TCM - selected the lights at the top of the card, Configure->Actions/Commands->Timeslot,SelectAll->Software->Soft Busy Out 2. If you just busy the modems out and not take the B channels out of service, this is normal. netserver crashes

Hi, I have a netserver with 56 modems. It crashes once or more in a day. I just reboot it at certain times. But it fails after reboot. What can i do? I need help. analog netserver 8/16 with V90/X2 ?

Is it possible to update/upgrade netserver 8/16 or mp 8/16 (analog) modems to be able to provide V.90/x2 ? Here http://support.3com.com/software/smofficesw.htm is some software for mp/netserver but I'm afraid that this soft is for ISDN customers. Is it possible to do 56k on analog lines?

Long story short, it takes all your configs from NVRAM, puts them into a binary file, compresses them to 1 file, and allows to take them from your HiperARC to your PC (via TFTP). Bad thing about that, you NEED to put it back to a HiperARC with the SAME version of software. You are also unable to view the contents. What I believe Scott is looking for is an application that goes to your box, gets all of the relevant data, turns it into a script such that you can then paste it. Like on a Cisco you can do a "show run" and that is your config, he is looking for a way to do that. I believe, I could be wrong though. Thanks, Brian
