today i was configuring DSP spans by console session (from ARC). every slot's console was OK exceps 13. i tried to connect to it but got disconnected. then i noticed that it wasn't connected tu packet bus (as i think). list pbus sessions .. SLOT:14/CON:1 .. SLOT:15/CON:1 .. 13th slot is present: list chassis Slot Owner Description Ports Type Console .. 13 YES 30 Channel High Density Modem 30 DYNAMIC YES 14 YES 30 Channel High Density Modem 30 DYNAMIC YES 15 YES 30 Channel High Density Modem 30 DYNAMIC YES .. how can i "connect" this console port to packet bus?

NMC keeps rebooting

one day i found that NMC was undable to respond to snmp queries (not ip problem - ping was ok). some problems had console too - very slow performance. after that i tried to configure from defaults (by dip #5) - console got ok, but same problem with snmp. i reflashed NMC with software version 5.4.1 now it is rebooting each time it loads. how to get it to work? can chassis work without nmc? ( Dual E1/R2, Quads, NETServer card - old chassis).

All 0's hell

After converting our TC network over to rip, things have gone quiet on the dialup front. ISDN multichanel 'just works' and wierd breaks in routing have been pleasently absent from my list of tasks to debug. Unfortunatly, I bragged about this too much and a new issue has popped to the surface. It appears that for quite awhile (as far back as I have logging) we've been handing out 0.0.0.0 as an IP to approx 1% of all connections. We have 3 /24's setup as dynamic public pools on each of 8 TC's. Radius has no knowledge of the ip pools, and as such doesn't specify one to use for connections. At PEAK capacity I show the pools running at about 2/3rds capacity (200 out of 254 in use). Customers auth, and recieve the all 0's ip, hang around for about 30 seconds, and disconnect. No errors are logged by the TC's or our radius server. I'm stumped. This affects just about every type of caller we have, generic analog dyanmic to ISDN with static entries. TCM Code Versions - What is Stable

Recently these software versions have been reported as stable: HiperDSP: 3.5.105 HiperARC: 5.3.3 HiperNMC: 8.6.3 These are close to TCS version 4.5 which includes: HiperDSP: 3.5.12 HiperARC: 5.3.3 HiperNMC: 8.6.3 The current versions for TCM 4.7 are: HiperDSP: 3.7.4 HiperARC: 5.7.2 HiperNMC: 10.1.5 The TCS 4.5 code set sounds stable. Has anybody tried the TCM 4.7 code set? Any thoughts or recommendations on the best software versions? I tried to reload through the console and it wouldn't take it - the PCDSL program just says "Establishing Communication" repeatedly and it never works. I'll try that Jumper.
