I got this email from a friend who lives in LA "Oh, it was so annoying. I called all weekend to try to win. Some girl got through and the DJ says "So you ready to go see Gordon Matthew Sumner?" and she said "Who?" Yup, true fans once again. Maggie

And it seems the best is yet to come... This week STUNG takes it back to their SF hot spot at IRELAND'S 32 on Geary in San Francisco. Shows here are getting bigger and better, with surprise guests appearances and the infamous "STUNG All Request Hour"! We'll be breaking in some new tunes, as well as showing off the new matching flights suits and stage show! Doors at 9pm, show starts at 10pm. Also, look for STUNG along the route of the Bay To Breakers on Sunday morning! We'll be in Golden Gate Park on JFK @ 8th Ave, rocking it! Bring us a beer if you run by, will ya! Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Kim Turner, who was an instrumental player in the legacy of the Police and worked with the band and Sting throughout his entire career. See below for more info on Kim. KIM TURNER (May 13th 2003) It is with great regret that we have to announce that Kim Turner, the younger brother of Martin and Glenn, passed away on May 12th 2003, following a brave fight against cancer. In the early 70's Kim began his professional musical career within the extended Wishbone "family", first playing drums with Miles Copeland-managed band Cat Iron, who supported Wishbone Ash on several occasions in the early seventies. He then played drums with Andy Fraser (ex-Free) and appeared on the all star Mandalaband album alongside members of 10cc and Barclay James Harvest. In 1978 Kim joined up and coming band the Police as road manager and sound engineer and it is widely acknowledged that Kim's joining contributed greatly towards the creation of the band's distinctive live sound. From accompanying the band as "one man road crew/driver" on their first US tour, right through to the monumental "Synchronicity" tour of 1983, Kim remained an integral part of the machine which powered the most successful UK act of the eighties. Sting's solo career required even greater involvement from Kim, who co-managed the vocalist alongside Miles Copeland up until 1997 and also co-produced the 1986 "Bring on the Night" live album. 1987 saw events turning full circle, with Kim involved with Wishbone Ash as "executive producer" for "Nouveau Calls" and being instrumental in reuniting the original WA line-up. Talking today, Martin Turner paid tribute to Kim and says "He was such a big and popular character - it just will not be the same without him. We have had a long time to prepare ourselves for this day, but it is still very hard to get used to him not being here any more". So... I have an mp3 of Every Breath You Take '83, but the quality is pretty shoddy. I'm not sure how many other people will agree, but it's one of my personal Police favorites, and I always wonder what possessed "them" (whoever "they" may be) to not release the song more widely. So, I guess I'd like to know if anybody out there has any way of putting the song in a higher quality digital format. Just a simple output to CoolEdit or somesuch? For that matter, who on this list actually owns a copy of the single this was on? [Bless you if you do :) ] Til Again, -Dave

Hi all, I was just wondering if the single release date has been changed? According to Outlandos/Sting Fan Club, the single is going to be released in July. It seems kind of early, with the album not being released until September. Btw, any more news regarding the DVD filming in LA? I understand that part of being a Police fan is about hunting for rare stuff. Yes, I stop at every used record store I come across... I've spent long hours meticulously sifting through back rooms full of unsorted records for rare Police material. I know that it's part of being a fan... but some things are just so rare... I'd love a copy, but until that day comes, please forgive my pirating :)) Maybe I'm just stressed from Finals, eh? :o) Til Again, -Dave
