Steve, Thanks for the spelling lesson. I need all the help I can get. " Rally" works, or maybe "Sail In" . Just so long as we all get there and do the same thing huh? Steve and Diana, Thanks for the idea, Waldo is a very nice lake. Its along time since I've been there. I think there were some pix on here of that M23 if I remember right. I don't remember anything about any facilities there. It would be quite a drive from N Idaho or Seattle. Moses Lake might be more central for every one, however I do like Chelan. It is pretty central to Washington. Wonder what the interest is from those from Oregon or elsewhere? Guess I need to get out a NW map and see what looks centrally located and reasonable. It also depends on how far we are willing to drive, and how long we have available to do the trip. Buzzzzzzzzzzz, Work calls, gotta run. Harvey

Does anyone know of a "history" of the M-15's origins, similar to the M-17 history in the Montgomery archives? They're such cool little boats, I'm eager to learn more about them! Steve Tyree, P-15

Hey Rich, About the "6 month delay.......... I was refering to my wife's knee surgery and subsequent therapy from July of 2001 to November2001. I had asked Bob at Norsea to act as a "Broker" and sell my then current boat in exchange for an M-15. At the time my wife's knee was uninjured. When her situation occured it threw my plans out of whack so I told Bob there was no hurry as I would be tied up with my current situation until November. I'll be in California this month to see about the boat as it is almost complete. Hope that clears up your confusion, Chuck

Hi Harvey, I can't give you an expact P/N since it's been quite awhile since I bought and installed the hasps. Hasps and pad locks on sail lockers (and companionways) are a necessity if you are leaving the boat in a marina, or parked on a trailer somewhere. I bought the smallest ones I could find - as well as three identically keyed Abus brass locks. That simplifies life - only one key needed to open all three locks. >From looking at my WEST catalog (1999 Edition - page 196) I think what I have is "L" - "Stainless Hasps", and of the three shown, mine is probably the smallest one - Model No. 279026. When I installed them, I first put 1" closed cell foam seals on the insde of the sail locker lid, so that when the lid is closed, the foam strips seal the edge of the sail locker. Keeps out water as well as little crawly things looking for dark living places. Then I put the eye in place on the lid - drilling holes and using flat headed S/S bolts and elastic stop nuts on the inside. Then I located the folding part of the hasp on the inboard side of the cockpit, so that when the hasp was open that part would hang down and be out of the way. I located my holes so that it needed a slight force fit to get the hasp in place over the "U". That way, when sailing I have the lockers closed - no locks in place -and they won't open inadvertantly. However, exert a bit of force and they are open and the contents of the sail locker become instantly accessible.
