Advice for stained jib

I need some advice. My mail looks really good but the jib is stained. I didn't think nylon would stain so readily. If it will and the fabric is good, can I stain the fabric rather than purchase new sails? I don't think I can make it worse than it is. I would just like to defer the cost of a new set until maybe next year. Or is there something that will absolutely clean them to almost new color? I'm willing to try just about anything. I had an asymmetrical spinnaker on a previously owned M 15. I used it a few times, but found that the working sails worked almost as well because of the main taking some of its air down wind. Hi M-ers, In case any of you might need a good dinghy for your M15 or M17, I would like to let you know that I have a Bolger designed NYMPH for sale. I originally built it as a dinghy for our M15 LEPPO, but when LEPPO was sold, the new owners didn't need the dinghy. It is light weight, and easily car toppable. It comes with a set of light weight (shaved down and springy) spruce oars, bronze oar locks and is set up for two rowing positions. The boat is painted red with a white boot top and blue anti-fouling bottom. The interior is polyurethane varnish. It also has a British Board of Trade Plimsoll Mark on both sides so that you can check on the loading of the dinghy after adding the cases of beer, provisions, and passengers, you plan to row out to your anchored vessel. I used to row it for hours until the morning breeze picked up and we could go sailing in the M15. It's a real fun rowing machine and the ideal size for an M to use as a tender. There are plenty of discounts on the web so you might want to check Sailnet out carefully. A couple of yrs ago they closed their web sales without warning and failed to deliver or refund money to many people...all in the name of a reorg. A little searching should find the info. My understanding is the same owners (husband and wife) are still involved behind the scene in the business. This was a big deal on many cruising web sites and plenty of people lost big bucks. Some disgruntled buyers actually drove to the address and found the building empty while the web site was still taking orders. bp **************It's Tax Time!
