Got 3.785 liters of Tal-Strip II by mar-hyde a division of bondo for $23.00 at Schucks Auto Parts. Probably many other manufactures. The back of the bottle says see _www.bondo.com_ (http://www.bondo.com) . It is a methylcloride based product but seems to work much better than standard m.c. strippers

Welcome to the list Randy from a relative newcomer and frequent poster! The folks that frequent this site are great. I see you have a Ranger 20. I have some friends that bought one of those. They took me out with them one day and I was totaly impressed by how well that boat sailed and handles wind of 15-20. Hope you enjoy the chatter!

Toe rail refurbishment

Rick, I was turned onto the aircraft paint stripper idea already mentioned as a way to clean clear coat that had gone bad off of my aluminum wheels. Wow! The stuff worked great! It actually bubbled and hissed while it was working. I'm not sure how it would affect the anodizing, though, if at all. It might be worth a try on just a section on the end like an inch or two long. The stuff isn't very expensive and you can get it from Autozone. Good Luck I feel your pain!!! Hang in there, the pics of your gelcoat looked great! Sean

Dang it Larry!!! I was gonna call it a night but there you go again gettin me all fired up about the San Juans. Doug...You're not helping either. Now I got the lights out, flannel shirt on and gotta get back to it!!! June 10th may seem like a long time away to you ,Tom......but man does it seem close to me!!!! San Juan cruise

Since Doug has you thinking about cruising, this would be a good time to let you know the schedule for the San Juan / Gulf Islands Rendezvous. This will be a two week trip, starting June 10th and ending June 24th. We'll meet at Anacortes, Wa. to get launched and have our annual get-acquainted dinner, then the next morning we'll head out for a week in the San Juans, hitting a mixture of marinas and anchorages in some of the most beautiful cruising grounds anywhere. If you can only come for one week, this is the one. There will be others in the group who will have to head back to Anacortes, so you won't have to find your way on your own, although everyone participating should be able to navigate. The second week will be spent sailing the Canadian Gulf Islands, again hitting a mixture of marinas and anchorages. Check out the pictures on the photo site for an idea of what it's like. We have 14 boats signed up so far, including three M15's, four M17's, and four M23's! (I know, that's only 11. We have a few other brands represented, too.) This is a "Don't Miss It!" trip and despite the fact that this is our third year in a row, there's no guarantee how many more times this will happen. Join us, or join the East Coast cruisers, and you'll have a great time. I should add, though, that this is not a "guided trip". Everyone coming should plan on preparing both their boats and themselves with the appropriate equipment and skills to sail and navigate these waters. It'll take some work, sure, but it's worth the trouble and the skills you gain will make you a better sailor. How about genetically engineered interluxe eating microbes? The R&D would be high, but the satisfaction and potential royalties could be huge. ;^) I'd try stripping it first. What have you got to lose? Would a heat gun be effective? Good luck. Tis a noble goal you're pursuing. Do I try to strip it from the millions of holes?...Sandblast it and destroy any remaining anodization? You get the idea.
