I truly do hate the way the roller furling genoa on my CP23 looks when it's been shortened; so, I understand why some folks don't like them. However, as an occasional singlehander who's not getting any younger, I feel it is a necessity, albeit a very expensive option. On the upside, there's nothing easier than yanking on a sheet to let it fly, or winching the furling line to shorten sail.

Hey Larry,,,,,, Dreams will come true for you if you just keep workin on her.....it will be worth it....hang in there. I am now building on my 15th boat, but there was a lull after the 7th ......and during the lull about 10 years of dreams..........finally got back on track and really enjoy it......the M15 for me is an investment for my wife and grand daughter.....(and me).....I needed a good strong stable boat that I could launch and retreive easily with aging joints, and with plenty of cockpit room, and the 15 fits the bill......on all counts. Stan We were in Killarny the 1st week of Aug. sailed over to Collins inlet..down to mill lake ..then back up to thomas bay..then back to Killarney (gotta love a liqour store with a huge dock !! ) on down landsdown channel,across fraser bay to baie fine and mary anne cove. Hiked up the mountain there...WOW ..see for miles !!...then to the end of baie fine ..hiked up to a lake ..REAL WARM water..kinda blue/green. ...then back to Killarny. Stayed a couple days @ Killarney mountain lodge...expensive but the food was GREAT. July 29 to Aug 9 total. WILL GO BACK next year...keep in touch.

Bill, I am currently out of commission with a healing hand I attempted to put through the band saw. It hurt so much I had pulled out the hand. Seven stitches, but very clean cut. I like sharp blades on the band saw. I will be restoring soon, just sanding and painting the mast right now. I never knew paints (2-part epoxies, primer and top coat) could cost so much. have lived 35 years in hotexas[bushite hell] and just can't take any more hurricanes 100 % humidity and days on end of 100 + temp am looking for a low cost area to get 1 acre to put travel trailer or mobile home want cool summers and fresh water lakes for small trailer sailer am aging fast senior that wants out of dodge now please...if any any one has any ideas please advise thank you grover

I'm getting tired of hurricanes in Florida too and thinking of moving for retirement. Right now I'm looking at Arkansas or Kentucky. My brother is leaving California for retirement in Arkansas soon. The deals there on real estate are amazing. He recently bought a 5000 sq. ft fancy custom home on 10 acres for under $300k. The house is about 5 yrs old and sits in a very nice area. Land is still cheap there but you have to deal with tornados! I WAS considering Mississippi until the last hurricane blew through. Deep water canal front lots 10 miles inland (but lead to the ocean) were $50k before Katrina came. I USED to think 10 miles was far enough inland but it isn't.
