M 15 sails

I purchased a 1987 M-15. I'm doing this and that to get the boat ship, shape. Unfortunately, the boat doesn't have sails. Does anyone have an extra,or old jib,and main sail they would like to sell? Regards Warren

You have one more option. For boats 16 ft or less, it is legal to use an all around white light. John

New Old M-17

Endelig is coming along. I am now working on the lighting. Cabin and fore and aft running lights are now working. Did old M-17's have a masthead anchor light? There is a switch on the panel which says "Mast" and a dead end wire at the aft edge of the forward hatch but I see no evidence of an opening or wire stub going to the mast or a place for mounting on the masthead. The previous owner told me that she had knocked the anchor light off when she was stepping the mast, but could not find the fixture. I have really looked the mast over and can't find a place where it might have been attached. Can you help me, again? Thanks, Bill Sylvester M-17 #279 Endelig

I have nav lights mounted on the pulpit and the boomkin, and rather than drill holes I just have a waterproof cable leading to them and secured to the tubes with nylon cable ties. Here's the problem: Nylon cable ties deteriorate within a season or so of UV and I have to keep replacing them. Is there some simple and obvious replacement that I'm missing? (Decorative rope work is not an option here!) Giles Morris

Craig, That's what Rustoleum claims! Just sand the rusty areas, apply the zinc chromate, - I don't recall, maybe two coats, - and then the finish coats. Connie

New Old M-17

Hi Bill.. My M-17 came with a small mast head light. I replaced it with one from West Marine. Wiring and a wiring connector to the mast were already installed. I re-wired the mast by attaching the new wire to the old and pulling it thru. I can't remember the W-M part number, but it wasn't very expensive (about $25) and attached with no problems. Motor for the 23

Well my Honda 8HP was stolen about a month ago and I am considering replacement motors for my M-23. I would be interested in hearing what HP motors others are using and how happy they are with it. I am considering a 6HP and a 9.9HP 4 stroke long shaft. The 6 would be nicer as it is much lighter and I could bring it home instead of leaving it on the boat to be stolen again. The 9.9 would have more power, but it would be difficult to move each sailing session due to the weight. Any suggestions? Thanks.
