Hi,
;
images not possible to create with any
other frm or fractal program.
The title was used because almost every color
is showing. The images once again dont look
like fractals, more like paintings with almost
no self similarity.

2. Kaleidoscope Spiral (86475-06)

Animation of FOTD 12/12/13 (Rags of Time) is posted, all 22,261 frames of it!
It is over 6 minutes long and 91 MEG download.
Since it is so big (it took less than 10 minutes to upload, should be less to download) I decided to take the advise that some here have given - it is uploaded as the native video file rather than zip archive, so it should open up your player and begin running as you are downloading - thus you can decide if you like it or not before downloading the entire file.

HI,
;
to continue the series of spectacular images
possible with MFR12 here are two of that kind,
zooms into the same basic image. They only have
one thing in common: they need a good
highres monitor with brilliant colors.
Titles: Fantastic Structure (84675-08)
Distant Universe (84675-07)
David, you called MFR12 a magic frm.
Thanks for your comments, these images
prove you are right, I think.

FOTD -- February 02, 2014 (Rating A-5,M-7)
Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
Today's image illustrates a minibrot in a state of psychological
fugue. It appears to have totally forgotten what it is supposed
to look like. To begin, the minibrot is quite under-resolved,
as becomes apparent when the real(p3) parameter is reset to
zero. Next, an under-resolved minibrot is supposed to be empty
inside, and not filled with the massive converging arms that
fill today's minibrot. Finally, raising the maxiter of today's
image has very little effect on the image. The resolution of
the minibrot does not increase, nor does any new 'material'
appear. The whole thing remains a mystery, which is what
inspired the name "Unresolved Magic".
Adding to the mystery is the unexpected hyper-stuff filling the
unresolved filaments radiating from the minibrot. I have yet
to check this stuff, which I am seeing for the first time in
today's image. I expect to find little of interest in it
however.
The scene is located on the main stem of a larger confused
minibrot on the west side of the north branch of Seahorse Valley
of the parent Mandelbrot set, which is itself rather confused.
The calculation time of 3 minutes is rather slow, especially for
those who enjoy looking at fractals rather than trying to fathom
why they exist. But these fans may find time relief on the web
sites.

The heavy clouds and occasional light rain here at Fractal
Central today left lots of room for improvement, while the
temperature of 39F +4C simply added to the unpleasantness. The
fractal cats, who passed the day getting into harmless tussles,
had little time to worry about the weather. Meanwhile, the
fractal humans passed the day wondering what's wrong with our
so-called modern civilized world.
The next FOTD will be posted soon, most likely in 24 hours.
Until whenever, take care, and when we explain material things
in terms of the mind, we are explaining things little known in
terms of things better though still inadequately known, whereas
when we explain mental things in terms of matter, we are
explaining things inadequately known in terms of things even
less known. (As for me, I know my own mind [me] better than the
matter [not me] that I appear to see 'out there'.)

HI,
there has been a minor bugfix for
Multifractal_12.
3 images previously presented
had to be recalculated and
are included in the link,
also a zoom into the last image
presented before my trip: 35187-4c.gif.
The Cockfight image 63718-1.gif is now
calculated with Multifractal_10.
Please just replace the images
and the frm included.

FOTD -- January 31, 2014 (Rating A-7,M-7)
Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
Today's scene lies in the west branch of the prominent north
valley of the HyperMandelbrot set. It features a minibrot that
is rather attractive even on its own merit, and becomes even
more interesting when filled with hyper stuff.
I named the image "The Inside Story" because of the detail
filling the minibrot. This detail surely has an untold story
behind it, and when I find the story, I'll tell it. (Sadly,
today is not that day.)
On my rating scale, both the art and math aspects rate a 7,
which is above average but nothing to get excited about. This
makes the 3-3/4 minute calculation time a bit too high a price
to pay for the privilege of viewing the hyper stuff. Once again
however, the web sites bring relief for time stress.
The image is posted already calculated on the FOTD web sites at:

Lots of clouds and only a little sun prevailed here at Fractal
Central today, but the relatively warm temperature of 36F +2C
gave a welcome hint of spring, relatively speaking, that is.
The fractal cats had a slow day, with Nico sleeping under a
chair cover and Jazzy in a chair in her favorite room. The
humans had an uneventful day, great to experience but boring to
report.
The next FOTD will not be posted until February 2. Until then,
take care, and those who believe only half of what they hear
from the government and see on the media are probably closer to
the true facts than those who naively believe everything.

FOTD -- January 30, 2014 (Rating A-7,M-8.5)
Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
With today's image we enter hyper-land. The image shows an
under-resolved high-order 'star' on the southern shore of East
Valley of the HyperMandelbrot set. If the fractal were the
classic 2-D Mandelbrot set, the brilliant orangish area in the
center would be a large circular black area consisting of inside
points whose ultimate escape was missed because they lie beyond
the relatively small image maxiter of 580.
But this is not the classic M-set, and something strange has
happened. What should be a blank open area has been filled in
by strange new stuff unlike anything usually found in East
Valley of the M-set.
Curiously, increasing the maxiter of today's image has almost
no effect. The low-maxiter hyper stuff in the center has
permanently obliterated the higher maxiter stuff that would
normally be expected to fill the open area, and raising the
maxiter reveals no additional hyper-stuff.
Once again, I have no idea what this new stuff is, but whatever
it is, I am becoming more convinced that it is not merely a
result of math imprecision. Hopefully, things will become
clearer as I continue the investigation.
The art worth is not all that great, and rates a 7. The math
however is quite interesting, fully worth the rating of 8.5.
The name "Something New" refers to the blueish horn-like feature
filling the circular area. The calculation time of 1-2/3
minutes is well within reason, making the web sites more of a
convenience than a necessity.
The strange hyper 'object' may be seen without the need of
running the included parameter file by checking the FOTD web
sites at:
<http://www.crosscanpuzzles.com/Archives.html>
<http://www.emarketingiseasy.com/TESTS/FOTD/jim_muths_fotd.html>
<http://www.Nahee.com/FOTD/>
<http://user.xmission.com/~legalize/fractals/fotd/about.html>
Cloudless skies and light winds made the temperature of 25F -4C
feel almost like spring here at Fractal Central today. At least
the fractal cats thought so, as they lounged in whatever sun
they could find on the floor and took turns enjoying the sun on
their shelf in the southwest window. The fractal humans spent
the day laughing at the near-hysterical reports from Atlanta,
GA, which was brought to a total stop by a little over 2 inches
or 6cm of snow, something that would hardly be worth mentioning
here in Central Pennsylvania.
The next FOTD will be posted in a day or so. Many hyper-fractal
wonders remain to be discovered, so don't miss it. Until the
time passes, take care, and as I read the current books about
cosmology or the quantum, I wonder whatever happened to the days
when science was done by observing, theorizing, testing and con-
firming. Scientists nowadays seem to have ensconced themselves
in an ivory tower, from where they make unprovable pronounce-
ments that they cannot confirm or even understand themselves.

FOTD -- January 29, 2014 (Rating A-7,M-no rating)
Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
Today's Mandelbrot set scene lies deep in yesterday's
Hypermandelbrot image. Only the few Hypermandelbrot parts of
the parent fractal have been omitted.
In my opinion, the art rates a 7, being held down by coloring
that is a bit too chaotic. I declined to rate the math, since
the formula, Z^2+C, is the most basic of all fractal formulas
and has been overused to near infinity.
The name "The Upper Magnitude" refers to the relatively high
magnitude of the scene. This high magnitude requires arbitrary
precision math however, which makes the image a very slow one,
requiring almost a half-hour to complete. But here is where the
web sites shine by eliminating the need to calculate the image.

The sky here at Fractal Central today was as clear and blue as
it ever gets anywhere, but the daybreak temperature of -4F -20C
kept all thoughts of spring far away. The afternoon high of 19F
-7C was a little better, but nowhere near making Central Pennsyl-
vania a balmy midwinter resort. Fractal cat Nico gave Jazzy a
good cussing when she wanted to play and he didn't, but it
didn't bother her very much, since she soon found a slip of
paper to tear apart. The fractal humans had a reasonable day,
which is only human.
The next FOTD will be posted sooner rather than later. So fight
ambiguity by checking back frequently. Until whenever, take
care, and what could we call an Atheist who does believe in God?

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:
Except for the stuff condensing inside the central minibrot,
today's image is a typical scene in Scepter Valley of a minibrot
just beyond the large minibrot on the main spike of the
Mandelbrot set.
The 'stuff' filling the minibrot is a sign of higher dimensional
HyperMandelbrot elements filtering into the plane of the M-set.
I don't know exactly what this stuff is, perhaps I never will,
but whatever it is, it creates a rather attractive effect.
I named the image "Augmented Minibrot" because the minibrot in
the scene holds more interest than the average one.
The art and math values both rate an 8, at least in my opinion,
and my opinion is what decides the FOTD ratings.
The calculation time of 2 minutes will cause no undue stress or
anxiety. And the chore of calculating may be totally avoided by
checking the finished image on the web sites.
The web sites may be accessed at:

The day began with a very brisk temperature of 0F -18C and rose
to an afternoon high of 14F -10C. The fractal cats complained
about the lack of sun, but cheered up when extra treats of tuna
and cheese appeared, while the humans wondered where their extra
treats were.
The next FOTD, a very slow one, will be posted in 24 hours, give
or take a few. Until then, take care, and an educated theolo-
gian gave biblical proof that there is a place called heaven up
in the sky, and even though we have never seen it, we should
believe it is really up there. Then an educated physicist gave
scientific proof that particles called quarks exist inside
atoms, and even though we have never seen one, we should believe
they are really in there. No wonder so many people have so much
trouble knowing what to believe and what not to believe.
