i just read this off Flaming Lips.com: "Yoshimi P-we is a marvelously kind and beautiful woman who plays with the psyche-noise-experimental group the "Boredoms" and is the leader of her own band "OOIOO." She is a musician of extraordinary talent and uniqueness. Yoshimi P-we and the Flaming Lips became fast friends while both were playing on the Lollapallooza tour in 1994." i recently picked up the album and was astouned that the W. Coyne & Co. managed to take a step even further following "the Soft Bulletin"!

I bought an album in Berkley entitled EXTABAY. Beautiful stuff I thought. And another note, I heard from some folks that her real name was actually Amu Camus but that the record company just pitched her some Andean Forest Princess. Explain yourself Just that the latter term of the analogy, while showing great facility for technical/aesthetic production methods and never being short of ideas, doesn't quite have the charm or, more specifically, the revolutionary intensity of the former term (give or take an occasional aberration). I gather that you are a Zappa fan, and I apologize for such a blunt dismissal. I have repeatedly attempted to lend an interested ear to his recordings on the recommendations of friends or even strangers, but I can never seem to get what the big deal is about.
