"The Sound Pool" betrays its free-for-all nature - pretty wild, and an
interesting document of 60s stabs at breaking down the walls of the
conservatory, but I don't find myself reaching for it much. On the other
hand, I'm certainly not selling it off. "Leave the City" is quite
different - none of the core of MEV are on this record, done by Patricia
and Ivan Coaquette. Soundwise, it's similar to some of the spacier
Krautrock stuff, like Cluster - drifting electronics with some nice
shortout interruptions. The Get Back label is doing LP reissues of the
Actuel series, too, and they're a bit more ambitious with their release
schedule. They're somewhat pricey and I seem to remember hearing their
licensing is dodgy at best, but it's nice to see these great records in print.
