Hi all my fellow Yello fans! With all of the excitement over the new 'Touch' CD and the concert, I felt compelled to ask a couple questions to my fellow Yello fans around the world about what your choices are for the BEST SONGS of Yello. To be more specific, I thought, what are the songs that are pre-ESSENTIAL YELLO that could fit onto CD1 (1980 - 1991) - and what are the songs that are post-ESSENTIAL that could fit onto CD2 (1994 - 2007)? I think it should most definitely be allowed to use songs from the REMIX releases, as there are some amazing songs there - especially from 'Hands on Yello' and 'Eccentrix Remixes' for CD2. Just another thought I had...if Yello ever decides to do something next year to celebrate their 30th year of amazing music, by releasing a "Best of" CD....it would be interesting to see if our ideas, match theirs!! I hope to hear loads of replies on this one...as I am sure everyone will have some unique choices and explanations of 'why' they chose those songs! I will be happy to let my own choices be known, once I see what everyone else has to say. :o) *Daniel*
Hallo Daniel I think you´re a bit late, Yello was formed in 1978, so the 30th anniversery was last year. As Dieter said in an interview about that date, they celbrated it like any diva is celebrating her birthdays, quietly. Hi also have to admitt that Solid Pleasure & Claro Que Si have the most alternative drive to me. So they are my favorites. But I still like the 80-85 mixes. Best pre essential: Bostich (remix) Best after essential: On Track

For me this might be "Si senor the hairy grill" from Stella, but it's a very difficult choice.

"Squeeze please" has a special kind of musical anarchy in it, so I vote for it. Too bad I won't make it to Berlin, my wife is about to give birth to a son. After all these years with Yello, it would have been interesting to see them in person. But maybe they'll start a concert tour in Europe ;-) I've heard that that's where the big artists make the most money nowadays. -- Jussi Salmi http://mars.cs.utu.fi/henkilokunta/info/?id=26

I know we do this survey every so often. Always interesting to see what people consider the best. Suite909 is the best one from my boat, with Resistor a close second. Something mellow-ish with something hard and fast. I do have Tiger Dust as my ringtone however. Collectively I think PU is the best album, with Zebra and Baby not far behind. I love a good concept album and Pocket Universe is just brilliant. Although I tend to listen to Motion Picture quite often. On Sep 9, 2009, at 8:43 AM, klaus wolter wrote:

I agree with Julian. Pocket Universe is my most listen album. I am a fan of Psy-Trance-Music like Shpongle and Hallucinogen. Especialy Shpongle is very inspired by yello, i think. Try "Vapour Rumours", is this a hidden track from Pocket Universe? :-) Julian schrieb:

I see that my faves haven't come up. Flag, and Tied Up, with that screaming guitar totally rocks. But I haven't been listening to Yello so much these days, it's kind of like the CDs are hallowed, for special occasions. But I will make an effort now to go back through them all again.... and videos too. I think everybody should toss in their favorite videos now.... mine? hmm. Maybe Bimbo? After seeing the little preview for the Touch movie, it's all I can think about. no, I think The Race. Yes, The Race. I like how they mix the old videos, and have Boris wearing that old style racing garb. ________________________________ From: HR - Daniel Welsh <welshdan@gmail.com> To: yello@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Wednesday, September 9, 2009 6:56:15 AM Subject: [Yello] Best of Yello Hi all my fellow Yello fans! I haven't had any time to think about this, but here's the tracklisting I have on the tapes (yes, tapes) for my car. At 90 minutes per tape it's a bit long for two CDs... maybe 2x 2CDs (I could then throw in a few more bonus songs). Astute readers will note that 3rd party remixes have been banned from these tapes!
