The software revisions in the two cards were not the same. There are items in the new card that have no corresponding setting in the older card, so there is an SNMP error that the OID does not exist. In those cases, the whole list does not get updated. For example, the modem has a Transmit Level under the Line Interface Options under 2.0.60 but not under 1.2.60. When copying from 1.2.60, the Line Interface Options do not get updated. I did those by hand. Guys, I'm trying to set up E1 PRI RAS in here with Hiper System. Can you guys recommend good software matrix for me? I use 4.1.59 for HiperARC but looks like not stable enough for production network. (usr-tc) routing multiple class c to tc boxes

I know something like this has been asked before I looked but here is my situation. Do I have to route a /26 or multiple /27s from my cisco router at my total controls (or pm3s) when I have units that are not on the same class c as my router. I have 10 total control units that I would like to put on 2 class c address. I have 2 x 254 =508 ips with 2 class c I have 5x48=240 ( includes the nmc and netserver) on 5 tc so 5 can fit on one class c and so 5 more could fit on another class c. What is the best way to conserve ip space. Do I need to have a class c to every 2 chassis to route a /26 to each chassis? For those of you not on the totalservice newsgroups. 3Com just announced an Open Beta (read: no service contract required) for TCS 4.0. Well here is an illustration from a users e-mail to me: "Ken, been connecting very nicely lately with that new number. I've been connecting at 38.8 and 40.0! :-) Problem is when I play Quake I get the "phone jack" quite often, much more often than when I use the other number. I can browse the net and download files much better, but it is pretty useless with Quake. What do you reckon the problem could be?" Now for some of the pertinant details: This customer has a USR 3Com modem. He used to dial into our TC gear ("other number"). He is now dialing into our Max TNT ("new number"). The best he ever got with TC was 28.8K. Infer from this what you will. I have details such as our HDM/ARC revisons as well as his FLASH/DSP dates/revisions if anyone cares. I am working with other cases (The v.90 X-files) who have similar experiences and will let you know if there's a pattern. Tedious work, no wonder no one else has done it. :-P ----- .~. Hi,s I've been upgrading my Total Control firmware to make it Y2K compliant. A look through 3Com's website reveals that I have to upgrade my Netserver Card Software to version 3.8. When I go to the download site it implies that this version is for 16MB cards.
