Is there a way to change the switch type from the command line, instead of using the TCM software to do it? We are switching over to a new phone company and I think it would be easier/quicker to script something to do the switch type change instead of selecting each card, changing switch type, saving, rebooting.. =) -Steve

You can hot-swap PRI in both the new and old chassis'. Chassis Awareness should ensure a stable insertion. We do this routinely for RMA purposes. netserver/16 dial out not hanging up

I have configured our netserver/16 with a telnet service that we use for dial out only but when my users are done they exit and close the telnet window but the modem is not hanging up. If I log in as the administrator and do a "list active interface" they are still active however if I do a "list connections" there is none. Any advice? _____________________________________ James E. quad modem chassis setup

I bought one tc and had little trouble setting it up and it has worked well. I bought a second (admittedly off ebay) as a spare and didn't try it until I needed it (big mistake). The first one was too easy, and I have neither done my homework nor learned my lessons. The dual pri nac seems happy with the pri lines after changing to esf/b8zs but all the modems are in foul states which I don't know how to reset. Looking for wisdoom on that to do next. Are you sure the NACs are Digital/Analogue (Analog), or are they just Digital? There is a fan in the power supply that is 24v. Most fans are either 12vdc or 120vac. The 24 v fan is hard to find and we have been unable to locate one. Of course I'm sure you could get one from 3Com for a couple of hundred dollars. Anyone with a source for the 24v variety would be doing a great service by sharing the source with the list. Hi David, If you're talking about the old 45A style chassis with the single fan in the rear just unplug the chassis and screw that back plate off and replace the fan. It's a 3-pin 60mm fan that you can find in any old pc or buy at a computer store. We've replaced one ourselves and it works great. If you're referring to the fan trays on the chassis that lie underneath you can replace the entire tray or individual fans as well. If you have just one fan go bad then it's probably cheaper just to leave it alone. You can remove individual fans and replace them if you are comfortable wiring the fan.
