I;ve had this happen a few times. Just reboot the NMC card by sliding it out if the chassis or via the console interface and it will be well again (until next time). Hi Scot, We see this a lot on Hiper DSP cards when they fail. Try the Z-Modem procedure through the console port to reload code to it and see if that works. Most of the cards we see like this have to be sent back to 3Com for repair. Crash Dump not working

I have a HiperARC 128/16 v5.1.99 that seems to have the crashdump function broken. When I check the uptime it may say 6 days or 1 day, but every time I check the crash dump it shows null values of FF. MRTG seems to indicate that the ARC is in fact rebooting. I've checked the configuration against other HiperARCs and none of the other cards seem to be having the problem. My rack is not sending that string, at all! If on the client I use the option for "Bring up terminal window after dialing" and enter the password manually, that string does not appear. If, on the same machine, I dial up either of my competitors, I see it every time. So the computer isn't hiding it, it's just not there. Another question

Minor issue trying to figure out: If you telnet into the Hiper ARC, and do the command SHOW PPP, you will see an item called "PPP session start message". The default for this is "PPP session from %server_ip to %client_ip beginning...." How do I make it so that it displays that message once the person logs in? I've dialed into other providers and they have this working, but I can't figure out how to make it display it. Any ideas? Thanks, Joel
