I just heard the studio track 'Stolen Car' from Sting.com.
I'm really starting to think that Sting should give up those drum programs...
Anyway, I really love the songs performed live and I'm having the hardest
time to appreciate the same songs on the album!!!
Can't wait to see him in Paris!

My thoughts (aka just my opinions) on sampling the album piece by piece:
All of Sting's albums, but most obviously in "Mercury Falling" and then
"Brand New Day," are a story meant to be listened to from track one to track
end, bookended by a a musical phrase or lyric. To sample the music as
released by sting.com or whomever is to listen to a chapter out of context.
The song may seem odd or even repelling if the story isn't played from
beginning to end. Although I am one of those who loves to read the last
couple of pages in a novel, I am inclined to compare that to listening to a
single like SYL: it doesn't spoil the enjoyment of listening to the entire
album, but it does give an overall sense of what it's all about.
Do I like SYL? Well, yes (the album version), but with some reservations: I
can't wait until I listen to the story unfold from track one on and
understand in some ways what Sting is trying to communicate to all of us.
Peace, Love, & Sting,
Jen
"all made up and nowhere to go"
This is just a shot in the dark, and a somewhat selfish one, I'll admit, but I was wondering if anyone who has fan club access would be willing to gather mailing list requests for the setlist and forward them off.
Hi all,
I saw on www.stingus.net that the SACD-Hybrid limited edition will be released with a bonus DVD "Lake House Performance". I'm guessing this is different material than what's going to be offered on October's "Inside the Songs of Sacred Love" DVD release.
If this is the case, then I'm a bit annoyed as I recently ordered the Japanese version, thinking I'd get the full package (it has the most tracks out of all the releases). *sigh* It's a bit frustrating to shell out for another disc just to get the bonus DVD.
That said, I realize that no one's forcing me to buy anything and Sting's music is certainly worth it to me (although I decided that the fan club wasn't worth the outraegeous cost--I think I'll be okay when ticket-time comes). I just had to vent about how frustrating the whole album release structure tends to be with his music.

I love those songs too, and here's hoping he'll have a few
different set lists. I want him to sing "Angel Eyes".

If you're a fan club member, Sting.com has a spot where Sting has asked for fan input of songs to add to this tour's set list.
There seem to be lots of requests for Bed's Too Big and Burn for You which are two of my favorites as well. So maybe we will be lucky this tour!!
Let your voice be heard.....

Apparently, Sting would be on french TV for the prgram: Star Academy (Oh my
god... I will have to watch this?! Damn it!) next saturday! Don't know what
will he be singing!

Interesting that the wonderful version of stolen car/all would envy from
the msn posts earlier this week is not included unless it is part of the
'making of' part of the disc. The broadband stream is fairly high quality.
I used total recorder to capture it as a wave and burn it to a disc.
Excellent stuff.
