I was listening to NPR's "The World" the other day, and there was a story about how both Paul McCartney and Sting were nominated for the Classical Brits, which are apparently classical music awards, and the piece was definitely *not* complimentary! Here is the link: http://www.theworld.org/?q=node/9240 If it doesn't work, go to npr.org and search for "The World", April 5, 2007 edition. Also, there was an interesting article in my newspaper today about all these different groups that are reuniting and touring. It was from the NY Daily News, and here is the link to that: http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/music/2007/04/01/2007-04-01_hey_we… There is also a good picture of the Police associated with that article online. My paper had a picture of Sting. (Well, I *am* a subscriber! ;-)) Any more news on the record-a-cd/dvd-for-every-venue front? I'm hoping! Have a great weekend, everyone! Holly

Funny, you mention Elvis Costello, the Clash and Sting. All were inducted into the Rock and Roll the same year, 2003. I think Elvis said something like "It's a good year to be British." Hey everyone, Chicago's radio station WXRT just reported around 1:30PM that The Police are working on a new album; the DJ indicated that new material is being written! Has anyone else heard about this? I cannot find confirmation on either the Police or Sting official web sites. Before I start spreading rumors, I want to make sure I have the facts straight. I'm also contacting the radio station to see what more information they can provide. I've got to quote from my reply to this same subject from the sc.net board: "I'm not convinced this really happened but even if it did, I don't care. I'm a fan of The Police and of Weller (actually I'll take solo Weller over solo Sting - sorry!). What do I care if they like each other? Joe Strummer used to slam The Police, Elvis used to slam Sting all the time - that didn't keep me from liking their music. I particularly like Weller's first 2 solo albums - the self titled one and Wildwood. They're right up there with the best Jam records in my opinion. I've seen him live a number of times and he has an amazing voice and puts on a great show." And great Jam songs right off the top of my head...
