Just wanted to welcome all the lurkers and new folks on this list. I like reading all your posts. After all these years we're coming out of the woodwork or waking up like Rumpelstiltskin. It was so cool to see Pete Ashdown's post after not seeing him post much of anything for what seemed to me like years and years. I've been (lurking) on this list for at least 10 years and I've always found it a huge refuge for die-hard, true blue, pure, unadulterated Police fans! I recently posted on the Sting.com board and immediately felt the hostility, obsession, desperation and general soap opera cattyness. This place is like a calm oasis in comparison! I want to personally thank you Pete for managing it all this time. If I see you on a Police tour I will most certainly buy you a beer. I've met so many great people in the flesh through this list. While I was visiting Vancouver last week, Ross and I were speculating if Mr. Ashdown was still with us. I come back home and there is confirmation - Halleluja!! I hope lots of people on this list make plans to meet up with each other if/when the tour happens. It's all about shared experiences. The Police have and surely will continue to kick ass! You guys are NOT serious are you? I thought I was the only one w/that affliction! So now the "Policefan Anonymous" group has an offshoot: "Scrapbookers Anonymous". I've been addicted for 13 years and have been a Creative Memories consultant for 10. I do it to pay for my scrapbooking habit and thought it would pad a concert fund. So far, that hasn't happened. If any of you seriously do scrapbook and want to check it out email me, I have a website. Some of you know my "holy grail" is getting a photo of me w/Sting, and the perfect scrapbook page is the reason why. I have some cute pages I did of Sting concerts, Fiction Plane and Chris Botti I'd be happy to share photos of if you want to see what real freaks do! A set list would make a nice addition to the scrapbook, that always eludes me as well! I do have a photo of one since I was only a hand away in Providence. The girl that got it at least let me take a picture of it~! I'm such a dork. Think I have just appointed myself Queen of the Dorks Anonymous club too, no? Michelle, Queen anything Police related fan, scrapbooker, dork, and I guess now I could add entrepreneur if I take up my neighbors suggested method of raising funds. Guess I'd have to add prisoner 67954768075 as well. I'd probably get arrested first thing! I wouldn't be stressed. Just severely bummed. Will probably end up eating to compensate and then end up bigger than Meat Loaf was. Think we may need to have a pity party if it doesn't come to fruition. We can converge on SXSW in Austin in March (over 1000 bands in 5 days). That always cures my "I have nothing to look forward to concert wise" blues. I'm actually thinking about skipping it this year just to put that $$$ toward a portion of a Police ticket. Dude, making a scrapbook is a lot of fun. You can go to a store that sells scrapbook material and the people that work there will pretty much help you out, tell you what you need and give you tips. You can also look up Creative Memories and try to find a sales rep in your area. They're scrapbooking materials are a bit more pricey but excellent quality. The Creative Memories consultants will also host "work shops" where a number of people will get together to scrapbook and then you can also learn from those around you. Was just discussing this w/my friend across the street ... she said I should probably start a meth lab or become a Madame and I'd be set. How's that for headlines? "Arrested: 41 year old mother of three turns to the dark side to see the Police". Decided to return my U2 boxed set I just got from Costco. That's $50 more in the Police concert fund. Grounded my son from Baseball (for grades) but also saved some money there, that's going in too! Hmmmm, maybe his grades don't have to improve, I can forget about the bigger bass amp he wants for his bday. Bad mommy, already headed to the dark side.... Over and out for the weekend, trekking TX for a tennis tourney. I think I'm safe since I don't think anything big will happen until the grammys! I have to say as someone who has seen the Police back in the day I am certainly very pumped for a reunion. A tour is almost unbelievably exciting..my friends are calling and speculating about setlists etc. While I am excited I would predict a Synchronicity tour era set list. And I have to say that I will still absoloutely be pumped to see them, but for you collectors out there ..I find listening to the different Synchronicity era concerts my least favorite. They are all almost the same show and just not as exciting as any of the earlier tours. My favorite tour era has to be the Zenyatta era although I didnt see them then..ugh. But the shows from that era sound great in my opnion. What do you all think? And dont get me wrong..I am super pumped up to see a Police reunion and feeling the stress myself...how many shows, travel, money etc. etc. David

I'm dreading the stress too, but I sure hope being there will make it all worth it. Unfortunately, the months of stress for 2 hours of pure bliss will be tough to recover from.
