Sting Short Stories

I seem to recall a few ficitonal short stories written about Sting/The Police. One was called "Shadows in the Rain", and another was about Sting being a secret agent or something... it was a little outlandish. Does anyone still have these? I think it was on the same site that had "You might be addicted to The Police if..." The page no longer exists... and I'm writing in green. bleck. OK. does anyone still have this site stored somewhere? It was called "Every Breath They Take". It was a neat list and I'd hate it if it were lost forever. For that matter, was the old info from synchronicity.co.uk ever saved (I know, sore spot, but it's been years)? On my way home last night I started pondering the writing method. I really like that new Fergilicious song and it got me thinking. You think with all the music in the world, we'd run out of new, catchy songs to listen to, but somehow, the wheels keep rolling. Thank goodness. Was also cleaning up my ipod lists (rating them w/stars) and was awestruck by the percentage of Sting's songs that got 5 stars from me. I can see why one would have writers block, that's a boatload of great songs! Other artists that got 5 stars for a majority of their songs were Squeeze, Talking Heads, Joe Sumner, and Gavin DeGraw. Hi Rob, Hope you wore sunglasses when you came out of lurk mode! Welcome (back). As far as I know (haven't been keeping up w/sting.com since the lute project) there is no current talk of the Broken Music DVD. At one point I believe there was talk of the NY show being "the one" but nothing now. I hope it comes to fruition, including their opener, Fiction Plane. That's a band that I truly love. I agree with you, Dominic's site is great. I basically lurk there, I feel like I don't know enough to contribute, but nice to see the rapport he has with his fans. Yes, the Broken Music tour was the next best thing to a Police reunion, but still not the same! Broken Music Tour DVD?

Hello All, I have been lurking for many years on this list (I think I joined it during the TST days, maybe even before that) and though I haven't written anything for a LONG time, I always try to keep an eye on what is happening with this list. The news/rumors lately have been quite intriguing, mainly because the one thing I think I have to give Sting is that you never know what he'll do next and so it wouldn't surprise me either way to see if they will do a gig together or not. I was honored to have met Sting privately for a short 15 minute backstage meeting before his concert in Cincinnati during the TST tour. He was tired but very cordial and sincerely thanked me for being a fan and sticking with him through his "musical explorations". He even signed my TST videotape (yes back in the day we used to watch this thing called "videotape"). But I have to confess that I miss the raw power that was the Police and also share the opinion that recent albums are very much overproduced. I would have loved to have seen a Broken Music performance from what was described by Holly, which brings me to the actual reason I am writing. I remember seeing on the Sting.com website something about a Broken Music Tour DVD that was to be made available to Sting.com premium members. I have to say I've never liked Kipper's influence on how the last two records sounded. I remember when I first bought BND, I thought it sounded unfinished, like demos. And as far as the 'Sacred Love' stuff, the real album to me is the 'Inside' DVD, and 'Sacred Love' CD is a remix album. ;) I miss Hugh Padgham. His work will always be the classic 'Sting' sound for me (TSC, TST, MF); enough of a sheen to paint incredible cinematic aural landscapes, but still retain a live band environment so the music still sounds intimate and personal.
