Hi here's my summary of the positive aspects of "Sacred Love": ... that's no joke I don't want to start any trouble in the mailing list...but compared to this record BND was a masterpiece. I'm just bored by the new record. If anyone is interested I can go into detail. Dietmar

But wait, we haven't heard from Rich yet! There may be more in your club!!! I hope this doesn't read in a bad way, I'm certainly meaning it lightheartedly---we all have our opinions and it's fun to share them! And Teri, I know EXACTLY how you fell about the "old fogie" thing. My husband is 13 years older than me (sting's age, actually) and when he asked how the CD was after the first listen I told him he'd probably really like it. Yikes! I couldn't explain it to him as I was pleading my case to go to NY, so I couldn't tell him I didn't love it yet! There's no way he would have let me go! We must be twins separated at birth, Teri, as so often you send out my thoughts! Maybe the same age... "Sting Dog". :D I really didn't have a problem with "Send Your Love" (and even liked the remix better--go figure), but I don't have to listen to it again for a while. Do I find myself preferring his younger sound? Then, I listened to a remix CD I received yesterday, to that fabulous jellybean b. version of "If You Love Somebody...". What I realized is that I'm not ready for a more James Taylor-ized Sting yet (I may never be). *sigh* I've avoided it for a few days, but will give it a listen again tonight. I'm positive that the songs will sound far superior live (which was what finally brought me around to MF). Give it a chance, Dietmar! Upon first listen, I couldn't say I loved it, but after taking a break for a couple days, I'm getting there! There are a few songs that I love now, and I'm sure with each listen, it'll only get better. There are only a few CD's in my life I can say I loved upon first listen, and oddly enough, none of Sting's solo CD's are one of them! I've grown to love them. I think it's a good thing though. He's brought us on a long journey, trying to open our minds to different things (in my case---country music). Don't play that CD until Thursday, OK???
