Either Tuesday 10/1 or Wednesday 10/2, Stewart and Andy will be guests on the syndicated Mark and Brian morning radio show in the US. The date hasn't been firmed up yet, but it will probably be in the 8 or 9 o'clock (California time) hour. Unfortunately, there's no streaming available because of the whole legal issue. But if I can tape it (I have meetings in the morning on both days), I'll try to provide a summary.
Stew and Andy are promoting the new/old Greatest Hits CD.
Mark and Brian are both huge Stewart and Police fans. In fact, most of the related conversation this morning was about how they are big Police fans, but never really jumped on the Sting bandwagon. There was lots of talk about why the band will never tour again, and a couple of people called in to say the reason is because Sting is an egomaniac and can't get along with the other two. A photographer called in to say Sting was one of the worst people she'd ever worked with.
There was some discussion about the Behind the Music, and how the guys have "baggage" with each other.
There was a lot of misinformation, too. Someone called in to say Sting "once" opened for the Grateful Dead "early in his career." And someone called in to say that the band played at "Sting's birthday" and that the old baggage all came up again. Did the birthday bash ever happen?? I thought it was cancelled because of 9/11. I think the person was referring to Sting's wedding 10 years ago (or whenever).
Anyway, it should be a great interview. Check to see if Mark and Brian is broadcast in your area. They are based in Los Angeles.
