Groovetech No Longer Groovin'

According to BurntBlue (http://www.burntblue.com/news/news.asp?News=4254) Groovetech no longer exists: "According to reports, online radio station, Groovetech, has gone under. The dance music station and online music store which supplied vinyl to DJs around the world has been folded by its parent company, Internet Music and Media (IMM). According to Aim.quoted reports, IMM have announced that "the directors of its wholly owned subsidiary, Groovetech Limited, have resolved that it should cease trading." They say Groovetech Limited was established to sell product to the UK and Europe and has "never been profitable." Groovetech first started broadcasting in San Francisco and Seattle streaming webcasts of live DJ mixes. Paul Oakenfold, Kenny Hawkes and Andrew Weatherall are amongst those to deliver sets for the station. The company added: "We are assessing the impact of the closure on Groovetech LLC, our US subsidiary."" Ah well, no more LX mixing there, then.... ;-< L8rs, Nick ;-(

Just picked up the new Perfect Circle "13th Step" and I must admit watered down Tool is better than full strength..... Bad Ronald or what have you spiss. Check out tracks 1,3,9! and 10,11. Even some crazy triphop shit sorta thrown in there. I saw them live Easter 01' after coming off of a long long tour-de-force w/NIN and others. Was the last show for a while and Maynard was going off about how he couldnt wait to get back home to his Anal Sex VHS collection. Somebody musta fed him a random MN name cuz he said, "I heard this {St. Paul MN] is the anal sex capitol, oh wait no, thats Duluth, MN." Whatver he meant it was funny. This big easter bunny came and and was dry humping the band members then the hot (now departed) bass player chic dove into the mash pit. I am gettin kinda broke and sick from electro so needed some bands. I also picked up the new Killing Joke just for Orb relavance. I like the song on Voyage Into Paradise and have Pandemonium. Whats the deal w/Youth. He is supposed to be on there? I also saw some Faith No More remix's from Angel Dust done by Youth? He never appears in credits as Youth though? Who is he really supposed to be and whats the deal w/Killing Joke. I mean w/the exception of Def Leppard, expecting Brits to make good metal is like expecting a Texan to give up his gas hog and ride the bus. I just dunno bout dem. Dave Grohl plays damn good drums though. I just got email Friday from Steve Goodgold booking for LX's US gigs. Whoever gave me the heads up thanks. I asked him to book him and he sd "thanks, will do." It would be the afformentioned Ascot Room here in Minneapolis. I saw him on my Birshday in 02. I don't know if they made any $$ though. Some1 lemme know if those dates come out. I used to say I listened to only music that wasnt used to sell shit (just like the dearly departed Bill Hicks sz) but along came this band called The Orb. It is kinda nice when you can explain to some1 who they are by naming that commercial, but now its out of memory. I mentioned I picked up on Plaid in the background of a Pantene Pro-V commercial. I heard, yesterday WEEN selling Honda Civic's with "Ocean Man" off the Mollusk. That was a kick in the seeds. I mean I expect these bands to earn a living. Hell its prob for the best. I mean royalties will pay them back for all the music I dowloaded. Does anyone listen to National Public Radio? I listen to BBC like every friggin night (mine as well monitor the country I gladly send all my money to for CD's). I noticed Prefuse 73, Other People Place, and other warp,rephlex artists in the 4-20 second interlude clips, anyone else notice that? Not sold out but odd. The only thing I ever heard of Clear Channel doing good is the Grateful Dead Cd's they've been putting out. I am not a huge dead fan but went to Dylan and Dead out here in Sommerset,WI in August. Yesterday a local DJ played the $25.00 3disc set he got of the show. You sign up at the show and it gets mailed a month or so later. They master it on the bus. Clear Channel might start having them the same day of the show!!! Its the first show I've been to that I've heard live I think. The "space drums" set is kinda cool w/this steel drum calypso effect that sounds like Plaid a bit. They are ambient, when you check out Infrared Roses and such. Disney is jacked. I am a bill collector and called to get a hold of some1 the other day. I got the puppeteer and actor line and when I asked the receptionist how she was doing she is required to say "I'm having a Magical Day, and you?" Image being hungover and having to ans the phone "Yeah, I'm having a just fucking magical day, what do you need I got a fucking splitting headache and shiner from a bar fight last night."
