Sailing an M17 in the Florida pan handle gulf area

Hi this is Rick and Debora (M17 #635 Eidolon). It has been a long while since we posted on the list and we are no longer in the Pacific Northwest. We built a RV from scratch and are now full timing in it while pulling our M17. We have been on the road for four months and have sailed in Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Illinois and Tennessee. Eventually we want to sail in every state (maybe not Hawaii). Anyway, we are now considering heading from Tennessee down to the Florida pan handle in mid October and spend a month in that area before going further south in Florida for the winter. I am curious to know if any of you have sailed in that area (anywhere along the stretch from Pensacola to, say, Carrabelle). I would like to know how the sailing is in a M17 and also if you recommend any certain marina or preferably marina/rv park. I am looking now at Sunset Isle RV and Yacht club or Presnell's Marina/RV park. There may be other places that are better... Thanks for any tips!

Does anyone know where I can order a replacement horn cleat for my main sail down haul? I ordered the smallest cleat available from West Marine but the holes do not line up with the existing cleat. Thanks, Willy Gorrissen M-15

Fern Ridge Reservoir (Oregon) info for sailing later this month?

Hi all, I think there are a couple or more Monty owners here who are familiar with Fern Ridge reservoir just west of Eugene, Oregon? I'm thinking of bringing my M17 "Pajarita" up there for a couple days' sailing later this month. Maybe as soon as before and/or after next weekend, as I need to be in the area on the 12th for sure, and possibly 11th. So if anyone can point me to where to contact for launch, marina, short-term slips/buoys, and best options for those if there are several, I'd much appreciate it! Also any info about how the sailing is this time of year, and, can one sleep on one's boat at anchor or mooring. We have the mast and boom up. Trying to get the Genoa and roller furler rigged right. Husband thought he had it figured out at home, but cannot do it a second time. Unfortunately, he left the manual to the roller furler home. He says there is something that holds the roller furler close to the deck at the bottom. Can anyone send a pdf of a manual. Or a phone number if you just happen to know what we are talking about and,are sitting around sipping mint julips. We can always unrighteousness and call it a learning experience.
