Found a nice cruising ground on the James River in Virginia. Launched at Newport News and sailed upriver to historic Jamestown. Three days were not long enough. Fuse Holders

I hope someone can help me: I have a "87 Montgomery 15, hull # 389, that has an electrical panel built in. I don't know if it is a factory install, or a previous owner's work. My problem is that the fuse holders, red in color, have square heads and fit into a square hole in the panel. I broke a couple and can't find any replacements in any electrical supply house here. Does anyone know where or if replacements are available? Otherwise, I have to junk the existing panel and install a new one. Hopefully, one of you has a solution! Thanks! Bill

Priest Lake, Thanks Larry

Dan Fye and I went to Priest lake for 3 days after leaving the San Juan Islands. Thanks to Larry Yake's excellent local knowledge we were directed to upper Priest lake. It was a great location as it had about 7 sandy beaches with boat camping and no houses or lights what so ever. The stars were the best and brightest I have seen. Great mountain scenery and some good winds - Thanks Larry!!! My plans for Pend Orielle and Coeur D'Alene were cancelled due to the forecast 5 days of rain but I visited each lake just see what I could. I then wandered accross the NW passage into Montana and then cut back accross the center of ID along scenic rt 75. What a great state! Thanks Doug Kelch Seas the Day M15 G #310

Sounds exciting Sean, we'll look forward to it. I always marvel at those that had the time and skill to actually pull off such a passage. Some of the posters here have done such a trip. and the "Keep Turning Left" video series: Pocket Cruisers Unite! Many of you know of my friend (though this crazy internet) Dylan Winter. He is a professional free lance videographer in Great Britian. If you don't know of Dylan, you should. Here's why: Dylan hires out to do professional videography. BUT, whenever he is not "on the job", he's on his Pocket Cruiser he affectionately calls "The Slug". He decided 2 and half years ago to circumnavigate Great Britain's coast in "The Slug". Not only is he going "around" Great Britian, but he goes up every navigable waterway there is acces to from the coast. He figures that it will take him around 4 years to fully complete the journey. He documents the entire trip in beautiful professionally shot video on a website he called "Keep Turning Left". The scenes he captures totally capture the essence of what we do. His narration is great, although sometimes I have to have him explain his "English" to me! hahaha He gives a bit of history, and a bit of his theory of life mixed in with descriptions of his sailing. Each video is from 1 to 10 minutes long. A few longer a few shorter. He had hoped that eventually a TV channel might pick up his series but that has not happened. He has a "youtube" channel that allows you to see a lot of his work for free. If he can't muster up enough support, because folks watch his stuff for free and won't pay $5 to have full access it, sounds like he's gonna pull the plug on the video series and that would be a a real shame for the Pocket Cruiser family worldwide. I have no interest in this other than I really like Dylan, and enjoy his videos regularly. They are true works of art. Maria, Glad you liked the videos! I started thinking about this project last year when I trailered the boat out to the Keys. The trip was a blast but baked each day sailing down toward Key West. (Thanks for the suggestion on Seabird Marina as a place to launch last year... Great place to start, and meander down to K. W.)..... The bimini is from "Taylor Made" and I chose the Hot Shot fabric option, though regret it, should have spent the extra change and gotten the "Ultima" fabric. Dimensions are 4' long, 36" height, 73-79" wide for the frame. George George: Thank you so much for the videos...excellent! I am also struggling with how to get a bimini on my M17 since I live in Miami and the sun is brutual pretty much the whole year. Your boat is set up very similar to mine. I also have the same tillerpilot and I agree, makes life so much easier when singlehanding. I do have the backstay adjuster so your ideas about a zipper opening are very helpful. Please share any updates you have made and I thank you for the youtube format...easy for everyone to view. Maria? I've been thinking how to rig a bimini on my M17 for a while now, since I like to be out sailing for days at a time. Stern rails on M17?

Does anyone have stern rails mounted on their M17? If so, any pics or measurements available? I am thinking "out loud" about the pros and cons. Feel free to chime in. Back in August we met up with a friend on his Sirius 21 with stern rails (stern pulpit?), that got me thinking about it. Had not thought of a cruising BBQ, but his seemed to work well. Was also a good place to hang a small anchor at the ready when cruising. I see the temptation to load up the weight on the stern to the detriment of boat trim. We don't have a bimini and have used a nylon tent fly for a boom tent. Having a raised rail (18 - 24"?) above the coaming might give a better angle for tying off a cockpit sunshade. Will have to think about how wide to make the split between port and starboard sections for tiller clearance and also for outboard access. This past weekend I found myself sitting on the port coaming sometimes to be closer to the OB when docking. We had heavy winds from Sun to Wed with sporting crosswind conditions coming into the dock on Lake Ontario, so I was working the throttle and gear shift more than usual. Any cross rails would have to allow a clear reach to the OB. Any observations, opinions, or experience welcome. Bill Wickett Makin' Time M17
