Hi Robbin, We had a nice Holiday, hope all of you did as well. The board on Jerry's new design will be between 150lb and 250lb. Jerry will make the final decision after doing sea trials with the prototype. I don't know on the M23's. Bob said that on Fred and Lilly's boat, the centerboard was too heavy and he was going to make it lighter on ours and Jerry & Robin's boats. Bob will have to answer the actual weight question. On Golden, We're planning on moving molds and prototype in December and depending on Jerry's plan, begin production on the first boat. I won't know for a few weeks how far along we'll be in January, but you're welcome to visit. Sean, sorry to hear of your centerboard maintenance problem. As for me....today I will embark on trying to figure out how in the heck to change out the centerboard pendant on Dauntless, without having to hire a crane to lift her. Floating her, over extending the board, and SCUBA did not work. The keel will not extend far enough to allow access to the pendant. UGH! That leaves: 1. cut into the liner and then into the centerboard trunk to expose the keel from the inside of the boat, switch it and then install inspection hatches or 2. drive the pivot pin out, hire a crane.....again.......and lift the boat up off of that cast iron plate switch the pendant, re-lower the boat and play the " I can't line the dang pivot pin up again" game , hoping to get the pivot pin re-inserted and the boat off the crane within 59 minutes and 59 seconds. or 3. Option 3....which I have not thought of yet, but which I hope includes some pizza, a nap, and some kind of fairy that arrives while I am sleeping and makes this all go away! I LOVE OPTION #3!!! Cruise on Lake Havasu

I just returned from a 5 day cruise on Lake Havasu with the Lake Pleasant sailing club. Thursday through Saturday were great sailing days (5 - 12 kts winds) with beautiful scenery and great people. The Lake Pleasant club members left on Saturday due to the high wind forecasts. I stayed through Monday. The afternoon winds on Saturday were gusting to 25 mph (weatherunderground.com history) and it was a bit frustrating due to the wide wind variation in both strength and direction. 0 to 25, from the S to the NW. I spent the night near balance rock anchored in a narrow cleft with two anchors. Sunday the gusts were up to 35 mph (weatherunderground.com history) but in the canyons where I was I think they were even stronger. In the gust that made me head for cover I was down to my 25 sq ft staysail with the single reefed main backwinded about 60% and was still sailing along at a 20+ degree angle of heel. WOOOOOEEEEE! Time to head for cover so I headed dead down wind to Steam boat cove at 6 kts on the GPS. It's a good thing there were minimal waves. I was going to post some infomation here, but have not had a chance to get the details together. I will get the exact information when I get home from work. But basically I noticed the floor boards on Pony Engine when it was for sale and contacted the owner. Got the name of the outfit and they sent me some plastic to make an outline of the dimensions and they made the floor boards (two piece). These are not square grates but have teak battens that run the length of the floorboard. If I remember the price was somewhere in the $400-$500 range. I don't think they are near the quality that the guy that as at Havasu last year would do, but I am pretty happy with them and they add a nice "yacht" look to the cockpit. I will post the details tonight. Thanks Bones that's an excellent suggestion. I've seen the stuff lined around pools and spas but it didn't occur to me to use as a cockpit floor. Nice inexpensive solution.
