I am considering buying a new M15 and I think a stern pulpit may be useful. I am concerned that it may interfere with the operation and positioning of the outboard. When I purchased "Really" there wasn't a stern pulpit. My first experience sailing San Francisco Bay on a windy day with a ebb tide and a substantial chop was not a safe one. In my opinion, a stern pulpit is a must under similar conditions. I had a stern pulpit and lifelines installed and am grateful for doing so. In addition to a possible lifesaver, it's ideal for supporting the boom tent, a great grab rail when using the swim ladder and supports my anchor light, and American Flag while at anchor. I also attach a Bunje cord to the motor when I want it in the up position and secure it to the stern pulpit. There is minimal inconvenience with starting the motor. I can't imagine being without it. Regarding sailing from Channel Islands to Anacapa

It looks like we a have group interested in sailing the Channel Islands area. So far, Sean, Bill and Carlos have expressed interest in the sailing. Sean suggested going to Anacapa Island located 11 miles out of Channel Islands Harbor. I did this sail with the Potter group last year. It's about 2 1/2 hour motor sail to the Island. Steve, Very nice work. thanks for the pictures. You have so many clever ideas there. The swim platform looks great. I especially liked the bracket you fabricated by laminating wood and metal. I tend to think of using either wood OR metal. Bending metal to stiffen it is a little beyond my skills. The wood gives you that stiffness. steve Steve R. Norm, My friend Jason and myself were just pondering a trip out to Anacapa Island and back sometime next month in his 17. We were talking about the possibility of leaving out of Channel Islands Harbor. He's going to be moving to Idaho and wants to make this trip before he leaves. We are both coastal neophytes so it would be great to hook up with some other boats. Let me know if that sounds like a possibiltiy. Sean
